Suzanne & Daniel met at a colleague's going away party while they both worked at the Royal Bank of Canada in Manhattan. Although they worked in different divisions and different offices, they would run into each other a couple more times over the following months but it was the time that Daniel planned (and failed) to run into Suzanne that led to an official date. Daniel noticed Suzanne was on the email list for a community service event at a local elementary school and eagerly signed up. He showed up to the event hoping to see Suzanne, but to his surprise, Suzanne was not there. Fortunately, Daniel had his picture taken with some of the kids and ended up on the RBC website - prompting Suzanne to reach out with a "you are famous" email. The emails led to Daniel asking Suzanne to dinner - and the rest is history!
Daniel proposed at sunset on the water overlooking the Statue of Liberty with photographers (pretending to be tourists) capturing the personal moment. Daniel planned a surprise dinner afterwords where they celebrated with family at the same restaurant where they first met, PJ Clarke's. It was a great full circle moment celebrating the start of the next chapter of their lives in the same place where it all began.
