FAQs

Question

What’s the best way to RSVP?

Answer

Through this wedding website. There will be no physically mailed RSVPs as I (the bride) don’t trust the mail.

Question

When is the RSVP deadline?

Answer

October 15.

Question

Does the wedding have a theme?

Answer

For sure! The theme is C.S Lewis’ The Chronicles of Narnia. The ceremony and reception will feature nods to this classic series. If you haven’t read through the books, now may be a great time to explore the world of Narnia!

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The doors will open at 1:30pm in the chapel at Heritage Baptist Church. We recommend you come no later than 20 minutes before to get settled before the ceremony begins.

Question

Will there be a receiving line after the ceremony is over?

Answer

Yes! Dave and I will individually thank each guest for coming after the ceremony,

Question

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

No. We will be having an unplugged ceremony. However, there will be a “photo minute” during the ceremony where you will be able to take as many pictures as you like!

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Smart casual attire. Classy, but comfortable is what we’re going for. This means that nice, dark wash jeans with a blouse (for ladies) or a button-down shirt (for men) would be perfectly acceptable. Feel free to dress up a bit more if you like.

Question

I can’t attend the wedding in person. Will the ceremony be live streamed?

Answer

Yes! This will happen on Facebook! The ceremony will be live-streamed on my Facebook page. The link will be posted here shortly before the ceremony. If for any reason you cannot access the link, please let me know (AFTER Dec. 2). I will attempt to get you a copy of our official wedding video from our videographer.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

If you are married or engaged, absolutely! If not, we’d love to celebrate with just you.

Question

Can I bring my children?

Answer

Yes! Children are welcome! Please be sure to include them in your RSVP.

Question

Will the ceremony and reception take place indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Since our wedding is in December, we opted for warmth and chose to keep everything indoors.

Question

Do you have a wedding registry?

Answer

In a fashion, yes! Dave and I are in our 30s and have lived independently for years, so we don’t need anything! However, we would love help with our honeymoon! Please see the registry page on this website for a variety of items you could gift us for our honeymoon!

Question

Can I bring a gift to the wedding?

Answer

Your presence is gift enough, but should you wish to give a gift, please choose something from the registry here on the website. We will not have a gift table at the wedding.

Question

Have you booked hotel room blocks for guests?

Answer

Yes! The Craddock Terry Hotel has reserved 10 rooms and more can be set aside if needed. The booking link is on the Travel page of this website!

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

While it’s highly unlikely that there will be snow or any concerning winter weather, it will likely still be chilly. We suggest dressing in layers to be comfortable indoors, but still warm outside (especially when going from the ceremony to the reception).

Question

Is there parking available at the wedding venues?

Answer

Yes! There is a large parking lot right next to the chapel at Heritage Baptist Church. The Craddock Terry Hotel also offers a lot in front of the hotel (for guests of the hotel), a lot across the street (that will be available for our reception guests), and abundant, free public parking surrounding the hotel if the lot across the street becomes full.

Question

Are both venues handicap accessible?

Answer

Yes! There are no stairs to get into the chapel. At the hotel, you will need to go in the main entrance and into the elevator in the other (connected) building. Hotel staff can direct you when you arrive.

Question

Games at the reception?

Answer

As you may have noticed, Dave and I are doing some very non-traditional, novel things. One of these is a lack of dancing. Neither of us know how to dance or particularly enjoy it, but we love games! So, we will be playing games at the reception! This will give us a lot more time to interact with our guests and is just more “us” anyway! We hope you will come and play a game with us!

Question

What games will be played at reception?

Answer

We will be offering a fun and exciting lineup of games: Uno, Dominos, Blank Slate, Apples to Apples, Sushi Go, and a History Trivia game. Dave and I will be playing each game throughout the evening with you all! Participants will spend around 25 minutes at each game before swapping. There will be a five minute break between games to grab some food and/or refreshment. You will have the opportunity during breaks to swap games if you would like, but only Dave and I will definitely be moving. This will likely be very different from previous wedding receptions you’ve been to, so be sure to come with a fun and (slightly) competitive spirit!

Question

Will there be alcohol?

Answer

No. Dave and I do not drink, so it will not be part of our wedding day.

Question

When will the reception end?

Answer

Right around 10:00 pm.

Question

What type of food will be served at the reception?

Answer

There will be a charcuterie during the intermezzo (appetizer hour). Dinner will be catered by Noodles and Company and will include a macaroni and cheese bar, caesar salad, and a delicious gluten free option. Dessert will be an ice cream bar! There will be no cake cutting.

Question

I have dietary restrictions/allergies. What’s the best way to let you know?

Answer

Please text me (the bride) at 817-526-2118 no later than November 1.

Question

I’m visiting from out of town. What can I do in Lynchburg, VA?

Answer

Great question! Please check out the things to do page on this website for some ideas!

Question

I have more questions about your wedding, who can I contact?

Answer

For right now, please text or call the bride at 817-526-2118.
