If you wish to avail yourself of the Sacrament of Confession, then plan on arriving a bit earlier. Confessions will be heard at the back of the Church starting at 12:00pm. If you will not be going to Confession, we recommend arriving no later than 12:45pm.
John 10 tells us that following His resurrection, Jesus appeared to the apostles and gave them the power to forgive human sins. By the sacrament of Holy Orders, successors of the apostles (Priests of the Catholic Church) receive the authority to administer Christ's forgiveness to us, through the sacrament of Confession. Confessing our sins with true repentance restores us to a state of grace with God, and reconciles us with the Church (see Catechism of the Catholic Church 1469).
The Church teaches that during Mass, the bread and wine offered by the Priest is changed into the true Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ. Those who are baptized Catholics and in a state of grace can receive. If you require Confession to reconcile yourself to God and His Church, Confession is available 1 hour before the wedding at the back of the Church. If you are not Catholic, or Catholic but unable to worthily receive Our Lord, we invite you to silently pray with us from your pew during Communion.
There are two parts. The first part is the Rite of Marriage, where we exchange our consent to marry and say our vows. The second part is the Latin Mass, where we offer prayers and praise to God, and the Priest recreates Christs sacrifice on Calvary. The Mass is said almost exclusively in Latin because it is the language of the developed tradition of the Church, stemming from ancient times.
