Dave and I met the now conventional way - on Hinge! In July 2018, Dave commented on a photo of me in Bali, and said “Where is that and when are we going back?”. After that smooth pick-up line, we talked every day so I knew I had to give him a chance and meet in person. Our first date was at the Washington DC Zoo, where I met Dave inside the Panda Gift Shop. I spotted him on the other side of the shop shaking a stuffed Orangutan at me. After exploring the Zoo, Dave convinced me to get on the back of his moped. We took a nerve-wracking ride to get a beer and that is when I learned he too enjoyed boxed stove top stuffing over the home-made kind. Our second date was at one of my favorite bars in DC, The Brixton, and we danced the night away. I sent a Snapchat of Dave dancing to my girlfriends with the caption that I found my husband and who would have thought - I was right. Right from the start, we had many adventures including backpacking in the woods, drinking Guinness in Ireland, and off-roading in British Columbia. In 2019, we took on a long-distance relationship when I moved to Pittsburgh for fellowship. It was a long year, especially when COVID hit, but we made it through and moved in with each other in Charlotte, NC. We passed the true test of love - putting together all of our Ikea furniture without breaking up. Flash forward to November 2021, when we were flying out to California to meet our friends for a 30th birthday surprise. Dave had a surprise of his own, and proposed while we were walking down Pfeiffer Beach. It was a total surprise, and a perfect moment. We both love to travel and explore, so what better way to enjoy this moment than to take a vacation with our closest friends and family. We hope to celebrate with everyone in person - but if you cannot make it, we know you’ll be there in spirit.
