FAQs

The Wedding Website of William Crossland and Grace Franklin
Question

Colorado Weather and Considerations

Answer

Grand Lake is a mountain town at 8,439 ft in elevation. Summertime can be hot during the day and chilly in the evening. Come prepared with warm layers and a rain jacket for the possibility of rain. Sunscreen is a must! It is easy to become dehydrated - bring a water bottle and make sure to drink plenty of liquids! For those consuming alcohol: alcohol hits faster at higher elevations, so be careful and pace yourself. Worried about altitude sickness? Question

What events am I invited to?

Answer

If you've received an invite, you are invited to everything - welcome party, wedding celebrations, and brunch. We know many have come a long way and we want to spend as much time with you as possible.

Question

When and where are the wedding day festivities?

Answer

The ceremony will be held at Wil's parents cabin, just across the lake from town and the Yacht Club. As we get closer to the big day, we will have more details on transportation and parking options for getting to and from the ceremony. The reception will be held at the Grand Lake Yacht Club, in the heart of downtown Grand Lake. Dinner will be served outside in a covered pavilion before we move inside for dancing. Even though dinner is protected and we will be able to stay dry, please consider bringing a layer in the event that it is a cool evening. Being on the shore of the lake tends to make things a bit chillier than even being a block or two away. There is ample parking near the reception venue, however if you are staying in town, we encourage you to walk. This ensures that the parking closest to the venue is for folks who must drive or have mobility concerns.

Question

What's the deal with the welcome party and brunch?

Answer

We want to spend as much time with you as possible! In lieu of a formal rehearsal dinner, we will be holding a casual get together on Friday evening in town. We are still working on finalizing the venue but will update the website as soon as that is locked in. For those who are around on Sunday morning, we will have a lowkey brunch spread back at the Yacht Club on Sunday morning. We can't wait to recount the night's shenanigans with you and give you a hug goodbye before you head out.

Question

What the heck is Mountain Chic dress code?

Answer

Mountain chic just means dressy casual - have fun, dress boldly, and wear practical footwear. Bolos and fun colors are encouraged. Make sure to bring layers for the evening.

Question

Can Kids Come?

Answer

While we adore your children, we have limited capacity and our event has not been planned with children in mind. We are aiming to have an adults-only event, with the exception of immediate family members and those with babies still too young to be apart from parents for an evening.
