Grace and Wil's story began at the Wok of Joy early January 2022 over bowls of pad thai and garlic pepper pork. Wil shrewdly pretended that he didn't already know all the details of Grace's work for the last couple of years during the pandemic response and her temporary ascent as a small town celebrity. At the same time, Grace was blown away by Wil's consideration to delay the date due to the latest COVID wave that hit the town. They had an instant connection and quickly went from a few dates to being inseparable. The years since have been dedicated to skiing, travelling, finding the tastiest Chinese noodles within arms reach, and honestly just hanging together. They even decided to jump in the deep end and give co-parenting a whirl by adopting sassy little poodle named Larry Bird Jr. (affectionately known as Birdy to most). Whether it's jaunting around the San Juans, ambitious road trips, or spending a night glued to the couch watching network crime dramas (Grace's pick) or the newest indie film that makes you regret not just living on a boat (Wil's choice), they have created a life together that exceeds both of their wildest dreams. On September 22, Wil, in an unusual move, asked Grace to go for an early morning hike on the ski area to check out the aspen's changing leaves. He wore his 'fancy flannel' and even trimmed his beard, which still didn't raise any flags for Grace. Halfway through the hike, they went to take a photo together, where Wil got down on a knee and Grace said yes! (Followed by them both yelling at Birdy to stop eating dirt, not everything is a fairytale people...). Together, Grace and Wil have not only grown into what many are hailing as "Telluride's It Couple," but they have helped each other blossom as individuals and are elated to begin this next chapter as husband and wife. They are so grateful to be surrounded by those most important to them for their celebration of their love and can't wait to see you in Grand Lake in August!
