Yes, there will be transportation leaving from the Grand Traverse Resort at 4 pm and making a stop at the Sleep Inn at 4:10 with plans to be at the venue around 4:30. The bus will then depart the venue at 8:00, 9:00, 10:00 and a final trip at 11 pm to shuttle people from the venue back to both hotels.
The hotels in the area are a bit pricey as it is a vacation destination in peak season. That being said, there are plenty of hotels but they are booking VERY quickly so we suggest looking in the area ASAP. We are staying at the Grand Traverse Resort as it has many great features and we would love for everyone to be in one place. There is limited inventory so please book there ASAP if you think you might want to stay. If the hotel is booked, please check back frequently as the amount of rooms left changes daily. It is also better to call for more accurate inventory.
As much as we love your little ones, we please ask that you join us for an adults only ceremony and reception. The only children at the wedding will be those involved in the wedding party. Use it as an excuse for a date night out!
Yes, there will be parking at the wedding. A great alternative will be to utilize our complimentary shuttle from the hotel to the wedding venue and then deliver you back to the hotel at the end of the evening. We are encouraging everyone to utilize our shuttle service as it is a little bit of a drive to the ceremony site and if you plan on consuming alcohol, this is a safe, hassle free option.
The dress code will be dressy casual. We want you to have an occasion to dress up a little, but also want you to be comfortable (and have room to eat, play games and dance). The venue is entirely outdoors so please wear weather permitting clothing. The set up is all on grass so we recommend flats, sandals or thick heels.
The average high for July is 80° F and the average low (usually at night) is 61° F. The entire event will be outdoors on grass. If it rains, we have covered outdoor options but please wear weather permitting clothes/shoes.
In order to keep our guest count on track, we are only able to accommodate those guests formally invited on your wedding invitation/RSVP. Please let us know if your situation changes and we will try to accommodate the request.
We are very excited to be having a taco food truck cater our meal. There will be a vegetarian, chicken, beef and fish options. There also will be appetizers and options for desserts! You will have the option on your RSVP to request specific tacos which will give our caterer a better idea about how much of each to bring to ensure we don't run out of your desired option! The combination option will include a sampling of tacos.
My cousin Rachel painted and designed our postcards and our three panel invitations. She used original water color paintings for both, based on the venue. We are incredibly lucky to have such talented family members.
