Come celebrate with us!

Conor & Emily met on the first day of classes in their nursing program at Vanderbilt in TN back in 2017. The nursing school building was under construction and Emily was trying to determine if she could leave the building through a certain door to try to meet up with new friends for lunch. Along came Conor, her knight and shining armor, who helped her finally exit. Emily was so grateful that she ditched her lunch plans and ate with Conor instead. They had such an enjoyable meal that they ended up making additional plans to meet up with friends later that night, go shopping for scrubs over the weekend, etc. That evening when they went out for drinks was when they first realized there was some chemistry between the two of them, although neither of them quite knew what to do from there. To continue getting to know each other better, they became study buddies and spent a lot of time together running through flashcards and practicing physical examination techniques ;). Eventually it became clear that they both wanted to be more than friends and things got romantic. Conor quickly declared himself Emily's boyfriend and Emily was fine with that. They remained study buddies but also explored Nashville together as they continued to grow their relationship. They enjoyed going to trivia, listening to live music, going on walks, & discovering new restaurant/bars - all of which they still enjoy doing together today. Emily & Conor both successfully graduated from Vanderbilt in 2019 and moved to Mankato, MN in early 2020 which is when they first officially lived together. Luckily this went well since they were quickly forced to spend more time together during the pandemic. Mankato was a very different scene than Nashville, but Conor had a great job as a nurse practitioner & Emily as a midwife so they were very happy there for a few years. Mankato is also where they got engaged in June of 2022 at one of their favorite parks in the area. As the world opened up again, they wanted to be closer to family/friends & decided to move to Madison, WI in 2023 with their precious cat, Suzy. Emily lived there as an undergrad student and has enjoyed showing Conor her old haunts as well as exploring new places as a "real adult". They have continued to become even crazier cat parents and adopted a 2nd cat named Pepper in June 2024. After 2 years of engagement, Emily & Conor finally decided to make things official and tie the knot in September 2024. They got married in Emily's parent's scenic backyard with a small, informal ceremony where Conor definitely remembered all his vows. Because they both still want to celebrate with extended family & friends, they decided to still throw themselves a party. Emily & Conor have always talked/joked about having a wedding reception in Ireland, and one day said "why not?" so here we are!
