We can't wait to celebrate with all of you!

It started like this....

Angie and Collin met while they were both interning at Sub-Zero in the summer of 2017. They worked on projects together here and there. However, it wasn't until Angie started training for her first half marathon that same summer that their friendship really started. Somehow Angie convinced Collin to join her on a couple runs and soon enough they were both training for the Madison Half Marathon.

....which led to this....

When you're running for several hours a week with someone, there's a lot of time to talk and talk .....and talk. They never ran out of topics to talk about! They found out they both loved hiking, camping, traveling, eating good food, playing cards, sports, and goofy jokes. Leading up to the day of the half marathon in November 2017, they transitioned from 'just' best friends to best friends AND a couple. The day of the half marathon was a blast - it was great celebrating with both families. The parents later admitted that they jokingly asked each other, "Are Angie and Collin the only two people in the world that don't realize they are clearly dating?" since neither knew. But that was only the beginning.......After years of numerous adventures, tons of laughs and smiles, several rounds of cribbage, a few Badger football game days, and yup, more running, they knew that they truly were meant for each other.

.....which led to a plan.....

In the summer of 2020, Collin and Angie went on a road trip out west. The main event was going be a long hike to Reflection Canyon. Collin planned to propose. Only problem with this plan, summer in Utah is HOT. The day before the Canyon hike, they decided to do a test run. They hiked into some nearby slot canyons, found a "comfy" spot, and hung out for most of the day.....and......it was miserable. They both decided that hiking to the Canyon would not be smart....Collin's grand plan was no longer possible, but maybe he could still propose that same day? ....so, once the heat subsided slightly, they decided to head back to the car. However, they decided to take a different route through a second slot canyon. Only problem was this one had a large drop-off and Angie happens to be very short. Collin couldn't climb back up, Angie couldn't get down, so they would have to split up. They finally met at the junction point again but only after both thought the other had gotten lost. But no worries for Collin, still plenty of day left to propose, right? So not going as planned.....

....but ended up going like this....

Back together again, they headed out on the open trail back to the car. Except....there was no real trail. After hours of hiking, they finally made it back to the car just as the sun was setting. Both exhausted and hungry, they decided to make dinner. Collin mentioned a cool spot nearby - Devil's Garden. Angie was happy as long as she was promised food. They sat on a rock formation and watched as the last rays of sun disappeared. But just before that, Collin snuck back to the car for string cheese - and the ring. At that moment, Collin asked Angie to marry him and she said yes. Because hey, if they could make it through that day, they can make it through anything, as long as they have each other!

For all the days along the way
