A beautiful park on the water, where you can stroll through weeping willows and watch boats sail through Collins Cove.
An old-school arcade right next to Salem Willows Park.
Jake's favorite spot in Salem. For horror film enthusiasts!
Juna's favorite witchy museum in Salem. Make sure you ask the museum proprietor, John, to tell you about his favorite ouija boards.
One of the major cultural institutions on the North Shore and well worth a visit. Juna's favorite artifact is the signed scrimshaw in the maritime gallery and she also enjoyed the exhibition on the Book Arts of Moby Dick.
We go here weekly to pick up comics. Jake is currently reading Something is Killing the Children and Juna is reading Love Everlasting. They specialize in new single issues, but they also have a decent selection of back issues, trade paperbacks, collector's editions, cards, models, and manga -- especially horror manga.
A small but beautiful park in the center of Salem.
We LOVE this cheese shop. The soft, herbaceous Aussie Magic is our favorite crowd-pleaser, or if you're feeling adventurous, you can try the meaty Brebirousse or the funky Bayley Hazen Blue.
Stop here for a very rich hot chocolate (seriously, we recommend getting the 3oz size) or a decadent bonbon. The red chili caramel is delicious and the goat cheese and sage truffle is a unique flavor you probably won't find elsewhere, but our absolute favorite treat here is the flourless chocolate torte. Warm it for 15 seconds in the microwave for the most delicious dessert of your life.
Our favorite local ice cream shop! They always have new rotating flavors, so be sure to try a few of the more unusual ones. Our favorite staples are Chocolate Peanut Butter and Cookie Dough.
