Question

Which airport should I fly into?

Answer

We'd recommend flying into Oakland Airport (OAK) rather than San Francisco International (SFO). OAK is closer to Berkeley, smaller and easier to navigate, and due to its location on the Bay it is less likely to have any delays or cancellations due to fog. That being said if you have to go through SF, it's a reasonable BART or Uber ride across the Bay.

Question

Where should I get an Airbnb?

Answer

If you'd like to stay within close range of the wedding locations, look for rentals in Berkeley, Albany, La Loma Park, Thousand Oaks, Cragmont, and the surrounding areas.

Question

How much will rideshares cost if I don't rent a car?

Answer

This depends on where you'll be staying, but the hotel is a 15-30 min drive from the ceremony location. The ceremony is a 15-25 min drive from the reception, and the reception location is a 5-10 min drive to the hotel. Estimated Lyft costs for these trips are: $13-15 for the first trip, $13-15 for the second trip, and $6-9 for the last trip, for a total cost of $32-39.

Question

Do I need to give a gift?

Answer

Your presence at the wedding is the best gift you could give us! If you'd like to give a gift, head over to the registry to check out specific items, as well as funds you can contribute to.

Question

So...what's happening on the day of the wedding again?

Answer

Whether you're coming from the DoubleTree Hotel or other accommodations, guests should aim to show up to the Berkeley Botanical Gardens around 2. The ceremony will start at 2:30 and go for about an hour. After the ceremony is done, guests should exit the grove and either 1) tour the gardens, take photos, and enjoy the scenery until the shuttle takes them to the Reception location at 4:30 pm, or 2) retreat to accommodations or another place you'd like to visit on your own for one hour. Everyone is then welcomed to the winery, Donkey & Goat, at 5 pm for happy hour, dinner, dessert, dancing, and more! The reception goes until 10 pm, at which time guests can make their way home, or join the newlyweds for a nightcap at a location TBD :)

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

We thought long and hard about this one. Other than children of immediate family members, we respectfully ask that only adults attend. We know how much planning and coordination this takes, so please know that your efforts to respect this wish are greatly appreciated. If you're able to come, we hope you have a great time gettin' out and about on your own!
