Question

What is the RSVP deadline?

Answer

The brides ask that you RSVP by Thursday, April 10 (and be forewarned Daphne will proceed pestering anyone who hasn't answered first thing on April 11).

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

If your immediate family includes children, they are definitely included in your invitation, and we can’t wait to see them! That said, while we think the decor will very much appeal to all ages, we can't promise the day will be entertaining for them in general, so we'll understand if you decide it's better for them not to come. The venue is a historical building and has some odd quirks that aren’t especially child-proofed, so keep that in mind, especially if your little one(s) are particularly energetic and/or curious. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you have questions or concerns!

Question

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

Answer

Yes! There is a ramp at the main entrance. As for inside, we will be using both floors and moving back and forth a few times, but there is an elevator. Reach out to us if you need any additional accommodations, and we’ll make sure those who need the elevator get an early heads up about transition times.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

We understand that travel and parking times vary, so we've made the schedule spacious to give a generous cushion of arrival time. Feel free to join us as early as 1:00PM (DOOR TIME) for light refreshments and an iced coffee bar (and to say hi to us before everything kicks off!) but no later than 1:45PM (KETUBAH SIGNING) or you will miss/interrupt the ceremony and in order to adhere to proper wedding etiquette you will have to debase yourself via groveling and/or general obsequiousness. Tip for those coming from Boston on the commuter rail: There is only one train per hour on Sunday and the MBTA is notoriously unreliable. Please take AT LEAST one train earlier than you think you need to! We are happy to offer hospitality to guests arriving before 1PM if necessary, and can help arrange for transportation from the train to the venue if you let us know in advance.

Question

What kind of weather should I expect?

Answer

May is definitely our favorite time of year in Salem--usually in that lovely "just need a light jacket" range of temps in the 50s-60s. The wedding will be indoors, so weather shouldn't be a major factor in your experience; there's no air conditioning at the venue, but while there are occasional hot days in May, they tend to be later in the month. It can rain of course, and you'll have to walk at least across a wide brick courtyard from wherever you park (if not a bit further) so make sure to bring umbrellas!

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Dress up to the extent that you're comfortable and as extravagantly as you'd prefer. Our wedding colors are "yes, and" so vibrant is encouraged, though honestly nothing would make us happier than seeing someone re-wear their own (or someone else's) wedding dress as a guest. Don't worry about upstaging the brides because that will be impossible. That is both a threat and a warning.

Question

What will you be feeding us, and when?

Answer

Tasty things, and often! In all seriousness, there will be light nibbles and hydration (and coffee!) when you arrive, a generous cocktail reception after the ceremony, and a buffet dinner--all in the Middle Eastern/North African realm, AKA the best cuisine in the world, provided by our amazing caterer Soraya Events. About 90% of the food will be vegetarian and there will be ample vegan options as well. If you have allergies or needs beyond that, please let us know in your RSVP.

Question

Can I take videos/photos? Do you have a wedding hashtag?

Answer

Yes and no, respectively!

Question

What is your wedding cipher?
