Moab Guide

The Wedding Website of Christopher Cahoon and YuHao Tseng
With so much to do in Moab, we can only hope our wedding is the highlight. We encourage guests to make the most of their time here and plan a vacation around the event. We've provided several ideas for things to do in Moab below; we've even secured some discounts with local companies!

Keep In Touch!

We're planning to do some vacationing in the area before and after the wedding—it's a place we love so much, we are getting married here! If you can arrive early or stay later, let us know—we’d love to share some adventures. If not, we encourage you to turn the visit into a vacation and check out some of our favorites below.

Arches National Park

Moab, UT

Arches National Park is just 10 minutes from Moab and well worth a visit. Due to its popularity, $2.00 entry reservations are required—book early! Don’t miss Delicate Arch, Landscape Arch, and the Windows Loop. Most hikes are short, so you can easily see several in a day.

Canyonlands National Park

Moab, UT

Canyonlands National Park is 40 minutes from Moab. Head to the easily accessible "Island in the Sky" district for stunning canyon views and rock formations. The flat hikes makes it easy to do multiple in a day. Favorites include Mesa Arch, Grand View Point, and Upheaval Dome—just make sure your driver’s okay with heights!

Corona Arch

Moab, UT

Just 20 minutes from Moab and along the Colorado River, Corona Arch isn’t in a national park but is still a must-see. It’s so massive that locals once flew planes through it!

Dead Horse Point State Park

Moab, UT

Dead Horse Point is 35 minutes from Moab and just 5 from Canyonlands. Known for dramatic canyon views and river bends, it’s especially stunning at sunrise or sunset—don’t miss it on your way to/from Canyonlands.

UTV Tours

Moab, UT

Moab has many thrilling off-road UTV tours with steep climbs and cliffside views. It’s best for experienced drivers, but tours are available—some even let you take the wheel! If you book with our link, call the company by phone first and tell them you're with the Christopher & Yu-Hao at the Red Earth Venue for a discount!

Zipline Tours

Moab, UT

Zipline tours are another high adrenaline activity offered in Moab. Some tours are even paired with adventure courses and off-roading experiences. If you book with our link, call the company by phone first and tell them you're with the Christopher & Yu-Hao at the Red Earth Venue for a discount!

Moab Adventure Center

Moab, UT

The Moab Adventure Center offers a huge variety of adventures: river rafting, jet boating, off-roading, canyoneering, rappelling, rock climbing, guided hiking, horseback riding, zip lining, hot air ballooning, and several other amazing options! If you book with our link, call the company by phone first and tell them you're with the Christopher & Yu-Hao at the Red Earth Venue for a discount!

Flight Tours

Flight tours are an incredible way to see Arches, Canyonlands, and several other parts of the beautiful Moab area. Tours are often narrated in small airplanes or helicopters. Hot Air Ballooning

Hot Air Ballooning is a unique experience made even better by the beautiful geography of Southern Utah's red rocks. If you book with our link, call the company by phone first and tell them you're with the Christopher & Yu-Hao at the Red Earth Venue for a discount!

Other National and State Parks

National Parks (NP) Utah has 5 national parks - 3rd most in the nation! Although Arches and Canyonlands are most readily accessible, feel free to make a road trip out of your time here to visit Utah's Mighty 5: Arches NP, Bryce NP, Canyonlands NP, Capitol Reef NP, and Zion NP. We've been to all, so please reach out if you'd like some recommended hikes! National Monuments (NM) Grand Staircase Escalante NM is an enormous area more than twice the size of all of Utah's NPs combined! It is known for slot canyons, arches, hoodoos, river canyons, petroglyphs, and more. Bears Ears NM is known for beautiful canyons and buttes, but it is more importantly a historical and cultural Native American land area that hosts more than 100,000 archaeological sites. State Parks (SP) Dead Horse Point SP is definitely the most accessible SP from Moab, but if you do road trip, consider stops at Goblin Valley SP, Edge of the Cedars SP, Anasazi SP, and Escalante Petrified Forest SP.

Salt Lake City Recommendations

Salt Lake City, UT

Nature Salt Lake City hosts its own abundance of nature with mountain access just 20 minutes from anywhere in the Salt Lake Valley. We know dozens of accessible hikes, so reach out to hear our favorites if you have some time in the area before or after heading down to Moab. Restaurants Salt Lake City has not been historically known for its food scene, and while it may pale in comparison to America's other major cities, the food scene has grown tremendously in the last decade. Our Mexican food scene is perhaps the best, but there are fantastic Vietnamese, Chinese, and Thai options around the valley. Bonneville Salt Flats The Bonneville Salt Flats are ~90 minutes from Salt Lake City. They are the second largest salt flats in the world and well worth a visit if you have the time. If you do go, we recommend you arrive ~30 minutes before sunset as photos are best at golden hour and as the sun is setting behind the western mountains in Nevada.
