Arches and Canyonlands are most readily accessible from Moab, but feel free to make a road trip to Utah's Mighty 5: Arches NP, Bryce NP, Canyonlands NP, Capitol Reef NP, and Zion NP. We've been to all, so reach out if you'd likerecommended hikes! National Monuments (NM) Grand Staircase Escalante NM is a huge area over twice the size of all of Utah's NPs combined! It is known for slot canyons, arches, hoodoos, petroglyphs, and more. Bears Ears NM is known for canyons and buttes, but it is more importantly a historical and cultural Native land area that hosts >100,000 archaeological sites. State Parks (SP) Dead Horse Point SP is the most accessible SP from Moab, but if you road trip, consider stops at Goblin Valley SP, Edge of the Cedars SP, Anasazi SP, and Escalante Petrified Forest SP.
Nature SLC hosts its own abundance of nature with mountain access just 20 minutes from the Salt Lake Valley. We know dozens of hikes, so reach out to hear our favorites if you have time in the area before or after heading to Moab. Restaurants SLC's food scene is on the rise, showcased by its inclusion in the Michelin Guide this year! Our Mexican food is perhaps best, but there are fantastic Vietnamese, Chinese, and Thai options around the valley. Reach out for recs! Bonneville Salt Flats The Bonneville Salt Flats are ~90 minutes from Salt Lake City. They are the second largest salt flats in the world and well worth a visit if you have time. If you go, we recommend arriving ~30 minutes before sunset as photos are best at golden hour as the sun sets behind the western Nevada mountains.
