Providence, RI is the closest main airport to Block Island. From there you can schedule a Lyft or an Uber to the Point Judith, Ferry Terminal. I recommend Lyft as you can schedule ahead. THE AIRPORT SURGE PRICES LIKE CRAZY! Lyft is around $50-$60 **You will need at least one hour to get from airport to ferry drop off. Please plan accordingly.

Passenger Tickets: We strongly recommend passengers to purchase your tickets online in advance. Click here the Block Island Ferry Link to purchase. Adult one way - $25.50 roundtrip $51.00 Block Island Ferry: provides year-round service from Point Judith, RI. This is the only Ferry that can take vehicles to the island and reservations for vehicles are required. Passenger reservations are recommended. To Book: www.blockislandferry.com or call (401) 783-4613. Block Island Hi-Speed Ferry: A state-of-the-art High Speed Catamaran, the high-speed ferry sails through mid-Oct. The ferry departs from the State Pier in Point Judith, R.I. and docks in Old Harbor in under 30 minutes. Block Island Express: Connects New London, CT and Old Harbor, Block Island in just over one hour on a high-speed catamaran. The terminal in New London is located next to the train station and limited parking is available with a municipal garage across the street. This ferry runs May through September only. Vehicle Ferry Information

Vehicle Reservations: For those looking to bring a vehicle with them to the island, a vehicle reservation is required in advance. All vehicle reservations must be made over the phone by calling our Reservations Office at (866) 783-7996 ext. 3. The office is open 7 days a week. Please have your desired travel dates and ferry times, vehicle make and model, contact information, and credit card information available when you call. You will need the drivers name when making the vehicle reservation. Passenger tickets for vehicle reservations will be purchased on the date of travel at the Vehicle Check-In Window when you arrive (Drivers ticket is NOT included with the vehicle ticket). All passengers traveling with a vehicle reservation are guaranteed a spot on the ferry. Vehicle Reservations: Those who booked a vehicle reservation must arrive at the ferry terminal to check in their vehicles one hour in advance of sailing time. **All other travelers are recommended to leave enough time to park their vehicles and wait in line to purchase their ferry tickets prior to boarding. It is recommended you leave yourself at least 45 min-1 hour prior to sailing time to arrive at the ferry terminal. ** If you chose to rent a car you will need to book a Car Ferry. These reservations are difficult to come by. I would recommend no car, you wont need it once you get to the island and you will be able to taxi, walk, or bike everywhere. 1661 Inn has mutiple rooms and locations. Your are looking for the location on Spring street. Please keep in mind some places do not have AC so double check as you are booking if that is something you would prefer.

There are home rentals available on the island however most houses rent for a week at a time. If you decide to make a vacation out of the trip this would be the perfect option. Many locations do not have AC so if that is something you prefer make sure to double check.
