Do you need a car on Block Island?

Answer

It's not necessary to bring a vehicle. There are Taxi's everywhere. The island is highly walkable and bikeable, and you can either bring your own bicycle or rent one on the island. Mopeds are also available for rent on the island and a fun way to zip around to its beaches, cliffs, and lighthouses.

Where does ferry depart from?

Answer

Pt. Judith: The ferry terminal for our year-round Traditional and seasonal Hi-Speed ferries departing Pt. Judith is located in the fishing port of Galilee (Narragansett, RI). Physical address is 304 Great Island Road, Narragansett, RI 02882.

What if I have to change my ferry reservation?

Answer

Vehicles: You may change a reservation a total of three times. Two times prior to your week of travel, and one additional change within that week. Changes can only be made to another date within that same calendar year. Reservations must be changed prior to your travel date and time. To completely cancel a reservation, you must do so at least 7 full days in advance of your reservation date. You will receive a refund minus the cancellation fee ($12.85 one-way/ $25.70 round-trip). Cancellations made less than 7 days prior to your reservation date will not be eligible to receive a refund. The assigned drivers name cannot be changed after the initial booking. Passengers: Unfortunately, online passenger tickets are non-refundable. Please make sure the travel dates and times you have selected are accurate before booking. We allow 1 courtesy change no later than ONE calendar day prior to your departure date. Changes can only be made through our call center during regular office hours.

What happens if my ferry is cancelled?

Answer

On rare occasions, the ferries do get cancelled due to inclement weather, such as high winds or rough seas. In the event that a ferry is cancelled, your vehicle or passenger reservation is also cancelled. You will be contacted by a Reservation Agent that day to reschedule your booking. More information on ferry cancellations will be available and updated on the day of travel by checking our website or calling the Reservations Office, or checking our Facebook and Twitter pages. Please contact our Reservations Office for updated information: (866) 783-7996 ext. 3.

What is the sailing time for the ferrys?

Answer

Pt. Judith: Sailing time from Pt. Judith on our Traditional ferry is 55 minutes. Sailing time on the Hi-Speed is 30 minutes.

Are there Ubers on Block Island?

Answer

Most taxi rides will be about $15. There is no Uber or Lyft on the Island.

Will transportation be provided while we are visiting Block Island?

Answer

Yes, we will have transportation to ceremony/reception for all guests. This will pick guests up at the ferry terminal taxi stand. Please be there at 3:30 the bus will make two trips. Post wedding Taxi's will arrive at the dock.

What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

Answer

Semi-Formal/Cocktail Gentlemen should wear a suit and tie. Women should wear tea-length, knee-length or midi dress. Our reception will be taking place on a boat dock, so ladies, please keep this in mind when choosing your footwear! Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Please check out our room blocks as accommodations on the island are VERY limited.

Where will the ceremony take place?

Answer

Both the ceremony and reception will take place on Payne's Dock.

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We are at capacity with our venue which means we are sadly unable to accommodate additional guests. We look forward to celebrating with you on the day!

Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?

Yes we do have room blocks and will make details available shortly.

Can I arrive Saturday for the wedding?

Answer

Yes, you can come in Saturday. Please keep in mind the weather can change on a dime in September. If the ferry is cancelled Saturday there is no way other way to get to the island. Also, ferry times are limited in September please keep that in mind.
