Flight

Colorado

Getting to CO Flying into Denver International Airport (DEN) is the most common option, with the widest range of flights and airlines. From DEN, Vail is about a 2 to 2.5 hour drive west on I-70 (budget extra time on Friday afternoons or if there's mountain weather). Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE) in Gypsum is a smaller option just 30 minutes from Vail, with seasonal direct flights from select cities. If it works with your schedule, it's a great way to skip the longer mountain drive.

Travel Note

Getting to Vail

Rent a car: Both airports have on-site rental car options. Driving gives you the most flexibility to explore the area on your own schedule - just be prepared for potential mountain driving conditions in September. Shuttle: We recommend Summit Express, a shared shuttle service running daily between DEN and Vail. It's a stress-free way to enjoy the scenery without worrying about the road. Use group code WEDDING at booking for 10% off - and if your group is 4 or more, the shared rate may already beat the discount, so check both options. Book online at summitexpress.com or call them directly. Budget option: Colorado's Bustang bus (cdot.gov/bustang) runs from Denver Union Station to Vail, and Union Station is accessible from DEN via the A Line commuter train. It's the most affordable option, though it takes longer and works best for those traveling light. Once You're in Vail No car needed! Vail has a free local bus system connecting the villages, hotels, and venues throughout town. You can get around easily on foot or by bus for the entire weekend.

Accomodation

Vail is a charming and picturesque town, and we highly recommend staying in town to fully experience everything it has to offer. Most of the wedding activities are centered around Vail Village, though Lionshead and Golden Peak are also within easy walking distance. The town offers a free shuttle service that runs every 10–15 minutes (depending on the time of day) from 6:00 AM to 2:00 AM, making it easy to get around without a car. There are plenty of Airbnb and Vrbo options in town, starting at approximately $200/night for two guests. Please note that shuttle pick up and drop off for the wedding will only be at the Vail Transportation Center. Below is a list of hotels that are within walking distance of the transportation center in Vail Village!

Shuttle

Complimentary Wedding Day Shuttle

September 25, 2026 3:30 pm - 4:00 pm

To make your arrival easy and stress-free, we’ve arranged shuttles for all guests staying at The Austria Haus Hotel. The shuttle will take you directly to the ceremony at the Vail Wedding Island (Vail Golf Club). The shuttles will make multiple round trips, with the first departing promptly at 3:30 PM from the Vail Transportation Center (241 S Frontage Rd E, Vail, CO 81657), located just a short 0.1-mile, four-minute walk from the hotel. Please plan to arrive a few minutes early—the venue does not offer guest parking, so the shuttle or a rideshare will be the best way to get there. If you’re unable to catch the shuttle, Uber and Lyft are available in Vail and can take you directly to the Vail Wedding Island. (Found here https://maps.app.goo.gl/LoDJbQjdnJBNzS7n8)
