Ben Chance
Head Counselor
Will and Ben met in film school during their freshman year at USC. Ben is now a film diplomat and more well traveled than all other counselors combined! At camp, you'll find him leading the volleyball game and organizing everyone's bunks. His favorite camp snack is spaghetti bolognese (we don't think it's a snack but he does).
Steven Cherry
Head Counselor
Steven and Will are twin brothers, contrary to popular belief. While not mountain biking, he saves lives as a doctor of neuroscience at Dartmouth University hospital, which makes him the ‘smart’ twin. At camp, you’ll see Steven tearing up the dance floor or leading group hikes. His favorite camp snack is ice cream sandwiches.
Hunter Peterson
Head Counselor
A talented creator and Voice Over artist, Hunter and Will really established friendship after college on a botched roadtrip that passed a Fogo de Chão. When not voicing characters you love and memes you hate, Hunter can be found at the top of the fire watch tower, identifying passing aircraft by name. His favorite camp snack is anything from an air fryer.
Katie Zhao
Head Counselor
Katie and Mary Lynne met during their freshman year of college, and quickly bonded over their love of musical theatre. That inadvertently led to 10 years of roommate-ship in LA until Will took over. A complete girl boss running her own company, Katie will win at Reverse Hide and Seek if you ask her to play. Please don’t; we need her for the ceremony.
Julie Cherry
Counselor
Julie & Mary Lynne met through their mutual fondness for Cherry twins — how fortunate! While a doctor at Dartmouth University Hospital focusing on NICU, Julie is also a crochet master, cat whisperer, and tiny-goose-dispenser extraordinaire. This weekend Julie is the honorary camp medic— but really only if you’re less than a month old.
Zach Delaune
Counselor
Zach came to Los Angeles in 2018 with VR hopes and dreams, and found friendship with Will instead. An improv thespian and maker-of-funny-voices in a wizard hat, Zach can be found at camp admiring the scenery, and making you “roll” for it. His favorite camp snack is popcorn, which he makes better than anyone else (trust me).
Alex Gamble
Counselor
Vampire. Pirate. Private Eye. Alex Gamble simply IS Supernatural. She met Will in the dungeons of the Vrse.works post room in 2016, but still enjoys dungeoneering today (albeit on tabletop). Alex can be found at camp absolutely demolishing at watersports. There aren't any, but if there were, she would.
Mike Harper
Counselor
Although they attended USC together, fate would not allow Mike and Will to become close friends until the eve of global pandemic. One of the only team members with *actual* camp counselor experience, expect Mike to rally folks together around the campfire with a sick dumbeat and perfect mai tais.
Ethan Hughes
Counselor
If you're wondering where Will gets his humor: blame this guy. Ethan's friendship with the Cherrys started at birth and only continues to grow. A talented musician, arborist, and canoe-crafter, Ethan can be found eating all the hotdogs otherwise too burnt for human consumption. We're very grateful for his sacrifice.
Karen Sanchez
Counselor
Karen and Mary Lynne met day one at BU orientation and shared many a 'fishbowl' over the next four years (whether they remembered them or not). Now a project manager and Venice Beach transplant, Karen can be found hiking Islandwood's many trails-- if seen, please return to her stepdog, Goose.
Kai Smith
Counselor
From USC freshman cafeteria to Osaka Castle, Kai and Will have shared many an adventure. A talented artist, scientist, and fighting game wizard, Kai can be found at camp doing pushups in between rounds of volleyball and tearing up the dancefloor (absolutely based on his previous counselor experience). His favorite camp snack is salmon, however you cook it.
Catherine Tapling

When Will first introduced Mary Lynne to his best friends, she and Catherine immediately clicked and frequent girl's nights soon commenced! Cat is a fabulous actor, tennis pro, and dog mom but at camp, you'll find her recreating the entirety of The Parent Trap (both Lindsey Lohan parts) and eating Oreos with peanut butter, of course!
Du "Ben" Vo
Counselor
Du and Mary Lynne met while in line for hamburgters on the very first day of BU orientation - in fact, he was the glue to their entire college friend group "the wolfpack." Now, Du is living in Texas, managing all of the projects, and planning his own wedding! He doesn't like camping that much so he'll be spending most of his time fanning away mosquitoes - but he does love a good ol' s'more!
Megan Zari
Counselor
Mary Lynne was thrilled to meet Megan when Mike first introduced her to the friend group - but girl's nights really took off when ML, Meg, and Cat ventured to a destruction room to smash glass objects against a wall! While you can normally find Meg maintaining justice at the courthouse, she'd rather be out on a par 3. If you need to find Meg at camp, she's probably out running at 5k on the trails or perfecting her s'mores!
