Question

Tell me about IslandWood!

Answer

Islandwood is located on 250 beautiful acres on Bainbridge Island. During the week it is dedicated to environmental education, and on weekends is available for celebrations and corporate retreats. Throughout the weekend, there will be planned outdoor activities you can sign up for, and you will have time to explore its forested trails, pond, meadow, garden, treehouses, suspension bridge and canopy tower. For overnight guests, all food and drink are provided.

Question

How do I get to IslandWood?

Answer

Via Ferry! The schedule can be found here: https://wsdot.com/ferries/schedule/scheduledetailbyroute.aspx?route=sea-bi Please note - on holiday weekends the ferry can often run late. We recommend planning for an earlier ferry time and exploring the town if you get to Bainbridge early! More detailed instructions can be found on the Travel & Lodging page. We will have shuttles running from the ferry to Islandwood on Friday & Sunday for a limited time. If you'll be arriving or departing outside of the shuttle window please note - rideshare services are available but can be difficult to find on the island and you'll likely need to take a taxi. We recommend: Taxi and Tours: 206-842-7660 BI Ride: https://www.kitsaptransit.com/service/routed-buses/bi-ride Please plan ahead!

Question

Where can I stay overnight?

Answer

You can stay right at IslandWood! All meals and activities are included when you stay overnight. Please check out the Travel & Lodging page for more details. Links to reservations and booking details are available on the Travel & Lodging page. We'd prefer for you to be on-site with us so we can share time together the entire weekend, but it's up to you! For those that do not want to stay at IslandWood, there are hotel options in Bainbridge Island (the town) where you get off the ferry.

Question

How much will it cost to stay at Islandwood?

Answer

It's a little complicated, but we did our best to break it down: Your lodging covers all meals after you check in! Most rooms at Islandwood can accommodate up to six guests, so the more people you share a room with, the more economical it will be. Children under 3 stay free and there’s a reduced rate for children 3-12. For adults, see breakdown below: Two guests, two nights - $630 ($315 per person) Three guests, two nights - $790 ($263.40 per person) Four guests, two nights - $950 ($237.50 per person) Five guests, two nights - $1,110 ($222 per person) Six guests, two nights - $1,270 ($211.70 per person) Check with your friends before booking and let us know who your roomies will be when you RSVP (or shoot us an email after). If you’d like some suggestions for potential roommates, let us know and we’ll do our best to help out!

Question

What amenities are there at IslandWood?

Answer

The lodges won't be the same as a hotel! Each room has a combination of bunk beds and queens. What the rooms do have: a private bathroom, toiletries, towels, linens, a table, a closet What they don't have: nightly turndown service, hair dryers, TVs, room service Each lodge does have a common room, a small fridge for medications or other needs, a laundry room, and a first aid kit. There is a hair dryer and some basic body wash available per lodge if you're in a bind! There is Wifi on site! Whew.

Question

What happens if I arrive late on Friday?

Answer

Not a problem! If you arrive after the 6:30pm ferry from Seattle the shuttle will not be running but you can take a taxi or rideshare to Islandwood. Please let us know if you'll be arriving to the venue after 8pm. We will have a boxed dinner ready and waiting for you.

Question

What should I bring?

Answer

We'll provide basic toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash) but please bring anything additional you may need as well as any hair supplies (hair dryers, straighteners, etc.) as the lodges don't provide. You may want a reusable water bottle, walking shoes, hiking or active clothes, bug spray, or birding binoculars (if you're into that), and layers! A rain jacket is always recommended in the PNW, just in case. Marijuana and outside alcohol are NOT allowed-- so don't bring those! (We know, and we're sorry.)

Question

What is the attire for the wedding?

Answer

The attire for the wedding is semi-formal! Think Enchanted Garden Party - dresses, floral prints, fun suits. Whatever makes you feel happy and beautiful. We recommend comfortable shoes that work on any surface, especially grass and gravel. Also, bring a light layer for the (hopefully) outdoor ceremony. All other events during the weekend are casual. We recommend an extra layer for the campfire on Friday as well.

Question

What if I have food allergies?

Answer

Let us know when you RSVP! When you book lodging with Islandwood there will also be a space to note any allergies. We got you!

Question

I have other questions!

Answer

Well that's too bad! Just kidding, we're happy to help! Feel free to reach out to Will any time if you've got questions. He doesn't mind. What is he doing for the wedding anyways? Also kidding, you can reach out to Mary Lynne too! Please email us at cherrylynne.wedding@gmail.com
