Parents of the Bride
These are the proud parents of two extraordinary daughters, Chauncey and Audrey. They stayed present and involved in the girls’ early years by chaperoning countless field trips and driving them to their numerous after-school activities. Carol became a Girl Scout leader, so Rick joined as well and ran the annual cookie sale. Rick became their Little League coach, so Carol ran the food concession. They taught the girls lifelong skills like counting and color-coding M&M’s before you eat them, how to bounce no-handed on a pogo stick, to wrap a foam mattress around the tree before trying the homemade zip line, and to save all seemingly worthless items in case you ever need them. Their education is considered a success since they both now admit that Mom IS always right; Rick already knew that.
Parents of the Groom
Gary and Holly, Ethan's wonderful parents, married on June 23, 1979. Along with Ethan, they have three beautiful daughters, and seven grandchildren. They enjoy playing games and spending time with family in Wisconsin and Arizona, as well as visiting local restaurants for Friday fish-fry. Gary and Holly both keep busy owning their own businesses! Gary owns a whitewashing business that caters to dairy farmers and Holly is a seamstress, doing everything from alterations to custom orders.
Matron of Honor
Chauncey first met Audrey in 1993 when they became roommates- Chauncey was less than thrilled. As a child, Audrey loved gymnastics and that passion followed her into adulthood. She attended the University of Vermont where she received degrees in math and Chinese and competed on the gymnastics team, but also learned in important life lessons like how to participate in the Naked Bike Ride without getting frostbite. After college, she continued to coach gymnastics and in 2018 she became a certified judge. Audrey is currently the beam coach for the competitive team at Viking Gymnastics in Illinois. She does have hobbies outside of work, but they consist mainly of hanging out with her husband, Max, and their two dogs, Zuko and Bumi. She can also ride a unicycle, a point of pride for her.
Best Man
Matthews is originally from Missouri, but he and Ethan served in the US Air Force together, becoming friends after deploying to Kyrgyzstan in 2013. After deployment they lived and worked together in Wichita, KS. Then, for a number of years, life pulled them apart. Their destiny reunited them again in Phoenix, Arizona and they rekindled their loving friendship. Now, even though they once again live several states apart, Ethan and Matthews keep in touch through video games, especially APEX, and spend hours playing and talking. Matthews is a firefighter and EMT, and enjoys philosophy, psychology, the stock market, and continuing his travels.
Bridesmaid
Maleen still considers Vermont her second home. As an American football fan and fascinated by American teen movies she decided to leave her home in Germany and to spend a high school semester in the US. In 2007 she arrived in a freezing cold Vermont. Six months later she had not only learned how to snowboard and that pancakes can never have enough maple syrup on top, but also became part of the Jones/Bailey family and therefore Chauncey and Audrey’s bigger sister. After studying and living abroad several times, Maleen currently lives in Hamburg (Germany) and works in Finance. If you get a chance you should ask her why her nickname is “Vivian” and why it is important to ration ice cream.
Groomsman
Nick and Ethan met during their childhood, played football together in high school, and formed a friendship that has stood the test of time. Nick now spends most of his time farming and hunting. Both avid hunters, Ethan and Nick try to take a hunting trip every year together for some quality bonding. They've hunted together in Nebraska and Wyoming, and hope to continue this tradition with a wider range of states. When Nick isn’t farming or hunting, he enjoys hiking and traveling with his girlfriend Sarah. He is currently living in Oregon, WI as a civil engineer for Town and Country Engineering in Madison, WI.
Bridesmaid and Officiant
Chauncey and Sarah like to think that their friendship started in the womb, while their parents were enrolled in the same birthing classes. Born just five days apart in the same hospital, the pair were meant to be friends but their childhoods took place separately just a few small Vermont towns apart. When they finally reconnected in their elementary school band, a friendship began in earnest that has seen the two through questionable fashion choices, hair dying mishaps, countless dumplings and crepes, and their respective cross-country moves. Sarah can now be found in Denver, Colorado where she manages an outdoor retail store. She lives with her rescue cat, Shade, and rescue dog, Acadia, and is most often found exploring the surrounding mountains and rivers with a fly rod in hand.
Groomsman
Wayne met Ethan in elementary school. They spent all of middle and high school together. When they were younger they spent time jumping on trampolines, riding ATVs and snowmobiles, and playing candystand mini golf on the computer. They eventually decided to build their own real life mini golf course. Fortunately, they thought it best to start with one hole. They had a design in mind, figured out all the materials they needed, and bought them. They had big plans but that is as far as the course made it :). Fast forward a few years, and this past summer Ethan was the best man at Wayne's wedding. He and his wife, Molly, now live out west. He bakes bread in the winter and Molly makes delicious desserts all year round. They couldn’t be happier to be celebrating Chauncey and Ethan and their love for one another!
