How We Met

Ethan and I met in early 2016 on Tinder. There, it's out in the world now. We swiped right on each other. It has a bad reputation, but it couldn't have been better for us! Something clicked, and we decided to meet up at O.H.S.O Brewery in Phoenix, Arizona (On April 28, 2016, to be exact). I was a few minutes late, having been fighting my friends on whether it was allowable to wear my Birkenstocks on a first date (a fight I lost) and subsequently having to hunt down shoes that weren't Birkenstocks. When I arrived, Ethan was already sitting at the bar and I remember being immediately distracted by the way the color of his shirt brought out his bright blue eyes. We had a great time, but the best part was when I asked for a ride back to my car on his motorcycle, and he agreed. As I'd been deprived of mine for over a year already, I was thrilled - even if it was only 40 feet. Luckily he didn't find my weird quirks off-putting. Ethan says his first impression of me was that I was short but cute, and he vividly remembers the massive bag I brought (with books, of course). The next several years brought movie nights, pool-playing dates, time spent cooking delicious food, Ethan moving back to Wisconsin and a year apart, then me following with a move of my own up to Wisconsin where we moved in together with our cats, started playing (and being amazing at!) trivia, and building our life together.

How It's Going

Well we're getting married! We are now the proud parents of three cats, two motorcycles, two kayaks, a grill, several deer skulls, the entire Milwaukee power tools catalogue, a snowblower, an immaculately maintained front yard, and many, many books. I teach high school English in Pittsville, Wisconsin, and Ethan works in small engine maintenance for a local family-owned company. We still love cooking delicious food, playing trivia and other games, and having movie nights cuddled up on the couch. We are both active in the school district, with me teaching and coaching softball and gymnastics between two districts, and Ethan coaching track and field at Pittsville.
