Chandini and Madhana met in the basement of Abhinaya's (another beloved bridesmaid!) house during Balvikas (a class we all took as kiddos to learn more about our Indian culture). It was actually love at first sight and they have been inseparable since that fateful meeting in 2004 (#18yearsSTRONG). For those of you who know Madhana she has a radiant smile and a way of lighting up a room that Chandini was immediately drawn to. They have been known to erupt into random never-ending fits of giggles, break kitchen equipment when cooking, almost get kicked out of movie theaters, and talk about everything under the sun when together.
Fili Bogdanic
Bridesmaid
Chandini and Fili met in medical school during a small group class they had together and after approximately two days of knowing one another Fili invited Chandini on a trip to Paris. One week later the elevator door opened in Chandini's apartment building and out came Fili. They realized then they were neighbors! They went on said trip to Paris and became best friends quickly. Chandini loves Fili for the honest and vulnerable conversations they've shared, the countless Sunday morning Perkins brunches, the amazing trips they've taken together, and for her ability to do a flawless cat-eye look not only on herself but anyone she meets.
Abhinaya (Abhi) Gunasekar
Bridesmaid
Chandini met Abhinaya during previously mentioned Balvikas class in 2004. Madhana, Abhi, and Chands have been the three musketeers of their close-knit Indian friend group in Cedar Rapids ever since. Chandini loves Abhi's ability to choreograph an amazing dance routine in a short amount of time, her honest and sharp sense of humor, her amazing style choices, how supportive she is of her family and friends, and how passionate she is about traveling and having adventures.
Caroline deSaussure Frost
Bridesmaid
Chandini and Caroline met for the first time at the Toronto airport in 2013 realizing they were both traveling to the Azores as part of the Atlantis Project (a program for pre-med college students to shadow physicians and learn more about the healthcare system in Portugal). Within a few days they were climbing sharp rocks together (see attached picture), swimming in oceans and hot springs, and going on a midnight hike to summit the top of an active volcano. They shared a love for adrenaline, adventures, milka oreo chocolate bars, and travel. Since that summer they have remained close despite distance and have had adventures in India, Iowa City, Italy, Washington D.C., and Raleigh-Durham together.
Laxman Reddi
Best Man
Laxman is Chandini's older brother and will be one of Daniel's best men. We love Laxman for his amazing musical talents (he once sang Daniel by Elton John for Daniel), love of all things coke and Chick-Fil-A related, and for his ability to remind us that despite our differences we are all looking for acceptance, closeness, and love in this world.
Michael Bishop
Best Man
Michael is Daniel's younger brother and will be one of Daniel's best men. We love Michael's ability to bring family together, spark thoughtful conversation, and for his open-mindedness and curiosity about the world surrounding him. He is the lead singer/guitar player of the Bishop Family Yuletide Band and like Laxman is also an incredibly talented musician. He and his lovely wife Taylor are new parents to our sweet nephew Will. We are amazed at how gracefully he has stepped into the Dad role.
