That’s the love that I came to bear witness to

As many great love stories begin, Daniel and Chandini's fates were sealed by a rightward swipe on Tinder. Daniel will tell you he thought Chandini was a robot after seeing her Tinder profile which mysteriously lacked a bio. Chandini was about to leave for a mother-daughter trip to Banff, Canada and read her first Tinder message from Daniel at the airport. She remembers being immediately impressed by Daniel's ability to express himself so genuinely through a Tinder message. She chose to unplug from her phone during this trip to fully soak in the nature and time with her mom but found she kept thinking about Daniel and how intelligent, thoughtful, and kind he seemed. When she returned Daniel texted her a photo of himself in a kayak sunbathing on the Kankakee River and thus began a slew of lengthy text messages, Spotify song shares, and four hour long Facetime sessions; all of this before they even met in person. So when that special day finally came (July 20, 2019) they decided to meet at Kibbetznest in Chicago, an airy bar with a library-esque feel and discussed their favorite podcasts, families, travels, and musical tastes while sipping on summery cocktails. Next, they headed to Kuma's Corner (a slightly different vibe: burgers and heavy metal) where they ordered way too much food and ate while head-banging and screaming to each other over the music. After this first date they were inseparable. Since then they have shared in barbecues/bonfires with friends, a Dawes concert in an old barn, kayaking, obsessing over their dog Oliver, long quarantine walks together during a pandemic, mowing lawns, shoveling snow, joint podcast listening, chopping down a tree, road trips, hiking mountains, and making music together. Daniel and Chandini began their first home together in New Orleans in the summer of 2021 and for this reason cannot wait to be able to share their love for each other and this city with all of you, the people they love the most.
