We’re Getting Married!

Catherine and Khalil met in 2015 in Abilene, TX at Hardin-Simmons University. Khalil at the time was a sophomore (year 2) and I, Catherine was a freshman (year 1) of our undergraduate study. It actually started when Khalil noticed Catherine as a prospective student touring on a Preview Day. He turned to his best friend (best man), Reggie and told him "I'm gonna ask her on a date if she comes here." Fast forward a year later, Khalil noticed Catherine in the dining hall when he was filling up a glass of Fruit Punch. His glass overfilled because he was distracted by her beauty. He was too nervous to talk to her in person, so he had Reggie go with him. Reggie was the one to initiate a conversation but it did not go as plan. A couple of days later, Khalil worked up the courage to send a private message (yes, he slid into her DMs). Conversations flowed easily and led to their first date at PrimeTime Entertainment in Abilene, TX. The rest is history! 6.5 years later, Khalil planned a fake girls' trip with Breana Bailey to cover up for the proposal in Austin, TX. Of course Catherine said "YES!" Here we are, 7 years later and finally saying "I Do"!
