Mother of the Bride and Leader of Team Forget-Me-Not
Cate's "Mama Bear." Cate loved her mom so much that she once told her as they were driving past the Basilica of St. Mary in the Twin Cities that they were going to get married there one day. While this might not have come true, Colleen will definitely be front and center when September 21, 2019 rolls around. Just watch for the shining sun, warm breeze, and twinkling stars.
Father of the Bride
Cate's "Pop." John and Cate are two peas in a pod. They enjoy many of the same things: snowmobiling, concerts, spending time at the lake "up north," and a perfectly crafted cocktail. One of the reasons Cate wanted to get into the medical field was to be just like her Pop. She's definitely a daddy's girl, and proud of it.
Mother of the Groom
Since Day 1, Keith has always been a Mama’s Boy. He has so many happy memories of growing up with his incredible mother by his side. She has served many roles for Keith - an amazing role model, his #1 fan, the world's best cook, and, above all, a source of great strength and immense pride throughout Keith's entire life. Laurie is the most caring, selfless, and loving person Keith has ever known, and he is so grateful to have her by his side on the most important day of his life.
Father of the Groom
Keith has always wanted to be just like his Dad. He learned to golf and fish from him, he acquired his taste for reading and music from him - he even wears his old sweaters and softball jerseys. Jeff has so many traits that Keith hopes to emulate in his own life - his generosity, his undying love for his family, and his quiet, humble focus on doing the right thing. He is one of the world's greatest role models, and, if Keith only watches and learns, he will be a wonderful husband and Father someday too.
Matron of Honor
Eliz and Cate became friends in 2nd grade when they were in the same class at Fernbrook Elementary. Over the last 20 years these two have played on nearly every organized sports team together, have had countless sleepovers, and have driven an endless amount of miles around their hometown and beyond for weekend adventures. After over 10 years of living in different states after high school, Eliz and Cate are finally both residents of the great state of Wisconsin and live only an hour apart! Eliz has ALWAYS had Cate's back in all things that life has thrown at her and Cate could not be more proud and honored to have Eliz by her side as she embarks on life's biggest adventure yet.
Best Man
Collin has been Keith’s best friend since they first met in homeroom at Madison Jr High. They have done so much together - grew shaggy hair and sideburns, suffered through two-a-days, and shared many nights driving around Naperville drinking iced teas. Collin is incredibly driven, quick-witted, and he is always there for his friends. Keith always knew he wanted Collin to be his best man, and he will be incredibly honored to have him by his side in September.
Maid of Honor
Hannah is Cate's "oldest and goldest" friend as they were forced into friendship by their mothers the day Hannah was born. While their friendship may not have started out by choice, they have grown up over the years together as "sisters" and now couldn't imagine life without one another. Hannah has always been the person Cate calls when she is looking for a fellow adventurer. Whether it is hanging on for dear life on a tube behind a speed boat or backpacking across Europe, these two are ready to take it on together. Cate views her wedding as another one of these moments for her and Hannah--a major milestone that wouldn't be complete without her "oldest and goldest" by her side.
Best Man
Despite having a barely noticeable 1/4 inch height advantage, Kevin will always be Keith’s little brother. Kevin and Keith shared many days together fighting, squabbling, and colluding to get out of chores - somehow, it brought them closer together. Kevin has always been refreshingly honest and has always done things his own way. Keith is so proud of the man he’s become and so thankful Kevin will be standing by his side on the day the Brown family grows by one.
Bridesmaid
Taylor is the sister of the Groom and really has been a sister to Cate for the last 8 years. As a graduate from the University of Iowa, Keith, Cate, and Taylor have enjoyed watching many battles between the Hawkeyes and the Badgers (especially because the Badgers usually win...). These three also have grown to love traveling together...whether up to Cate's family cabin in Northern Minnesota or to Munich for Oktoberfest, its bound to be a rowdy time wherever they go.
Groomsman
Kevin has been one of Keith’s closest friends since Middle School, and, truth be told, he hasn’t changed that much since they first met. Kevin remains incredibly positive, easy to please, and extremely compassionate. He has served many roles in Keith’s life: his star receiver on Turkey Bowl teams, his faithful Mario tennis partner, and the drummer in their band. Most of all, he has been a true friend and someone Keith has always admired and loved spending time with.
Bridesmaid
Mina was the first friend that Cate made in college at the University of Wisconsin. They lived across the hall from one another in the dorms their freshman year, and continued to be roommates throughout the rest of their college career. Mina has always been that person who Cate can easily confide in whether times are good or bad. In their prime these two could be found passionately singing karaoke or breaking into Camp Randall during an epic snowstorm just to make a snow angel at center field.
Groomsman
Since they first met in high school, Matt has been “The Big Guy.” Matt has been a steady influence in Keith’s life - always laughing at Keith’s dirty jokes, always asking about the next round of golf, and always losing in fantasy football. Matt is incredibly loyal, caring, and he has seamlessly transitioned into the world of Dad jokes and changing dirty diapers. Keith and Cate are so thankful to have Matt as part of their wedding - even if it means stealing him away from sweet, little Brooklyn for one weekend!
Bridesmaid
Becca and Cate met in the dorms their freshman year of college at UW Madison and were roommates for the rest of undergrad. With their love for their home state of Minnesota and basketball, they soon were joined at the hip. They were pros at procrastinating their school work and also took the trip of a lifetime together in 2011 to Pasadena to ring in the New Year and watch the Badgers take on TCU in the Rose Bowl.
Groomsman
There may have been no wedding without Navi Bajwa. A wonderful friend since high school, Navi played matchmaker between Keith and Cate during their trip to Scotland. If that wasn’t enough, he was (unwillingly) the only other person in the room for Keith and Cate's first kiss. Navi has always been incredibly ambitious and hardworking, yet he knows when it’s time let loose with the guys. Keith treasures Navi’s friendship and is forever grateful for the role he played in convincing Cate to give him a shot.
Bridesmaid
Katie and Cate met in the dorms their freshman year of college at UW Madison and were roommates for the rest of undergrad. Cate was wearing a Trout Lake Camp T-Shirt on move-in day and the two immediately connected over summers spent at the beautiful camp. As another Minnesota native, the two carpooled for many trips between the Twin Cities and Madison. They also held strong together as MN sports fans in a land filled with cheese heads and the brew crew.
Groomsman
Nate (read: Nater) was Keith’s random college roommate freshman year at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Despite their collective shyness, Nate's subtle humor and genial personality quickly became apparent, and he grew to be one of Keith’s closest friends. They lived together for 6 years - almost a common law marriage - until Cate came along and broke it up. Despite the setback, Nate remains an incredible friend in adulthood and a dastardly adversary on the golf course.
Bridesmaid
Katey and Cate met in the dorms their freshman year of college at UW Madison and were roommates for the rest of undergrad. Now, they are the last two remaining girls of their group of roommates who live in Madison! Since college Katey and Cate have enjoyed taking on new adult hobbies together such as: gardening, playing in a sand volleyball league, crafting, spending weekends at the cabin, and trying out new breweries around town.
Groomsman
Objectively, Carlton may be the most interesting man in the world. A true renaissance man, Carlton joined Keith as a history major at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Keith and Carlton have enjoyed many arguments over NFC North supremacy, many fights over who gets Nes in Super Smash, and many tasty cocktails. Carlton’s undying loyalty and endearing quirks make him one of Keith's best friends to this day.
Bridesmaid-Team Forget-Me-Not
Mandi and Cate met in the dorms their freshman year of college at UW Madison and were roommates for the rest of undergrad. While Cate was initially intimidated by Mandi's green eye shadow and nose ring, she soon realized that Mandi was a teddy bear and the two became good friends. The best hug that Cate has ever received was given to her from Mandi...and that is truly something she will never forget.
Bridesmaid-Team Forget-Me-Not
Lindsay and Cate met in the dorms their freshman year of college at UW Madison and were roommates for the rest of undergrad and even for a year after graduation! As the science majors of their college crew, they enjoyed taking classes and working on school projects together. Their favorite school activity, however, was coming home in between classes, enjoying a bowl of fruity sparkles (Wal-Mart Brand of Fruity Pebbles) and watching 'Say Yes to the Dress.'
Usher
John and Cate lived on the same floor their freshman year at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After exchanging numbers on their dorm whiteboards, they quickly became great friends - spending their college years attending football games, going on spring break trips together, and watching it’s Always Sunny on a weekly basis. John has an amazing sense of humor, often making Cate laugh until she cries, yet also remains one of the most loyal and genuine friends in Cate's life. Keith and John have also become close friends as the years have gone by, and both the bride and groom are honored to have John play a major role in their wedding day.
Usher
Brian was first introduced to Keith by his Mom as he was moving into his dorm freshman year at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Though she seemingly grabbed the first guy she saw across the hall, Keith’s mother made a great choice as Brian remains one of Keith’s closest friends to this day. Brian is a lovely partner for a pint, one of the most genuine and giving people Keith has ever known, and someone that Keith and Cate couldn't imagine having their wedding without.
Officiant
Peter is one of the Senior Pastors at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Maple Grove, MN...AND...it just so happens that Peter is also the father of the Matron of Honor and the Bride's best friend, Eliz! Peter was Cate's first basketball coach in the 3rd grade and has always been like family to her since Eliz and Cate became friends back in 1997.
