Questions

Question

Travel tips

Answer

Check out our wedding instagram account @cassyandhenrique where we have posted a few travel ideas for Mexico City and surrounding areas. We will also be posting any updates on there!

Question

Dress code

Answer

The dress code is cocktail party formal. The weather is tropical and it is a day wedding, but by the evening it might get a bit cold. Ladies can wear floor or mid-length dress (white reserved for the bride). Heels are okay as we will be in non-grass areas.

Question

Plus one

Answer

If we didn't give you a plus one, please let us know on your RSVP form and we will make the changes.

Question

Weather

Answer

September is still warm, but we recommend brining a jacket for the evening. Low 18° C (65° F). High 27° C (80° F).

Question

Kids

Answer

We understand many of you will travel with your kids! We are more than happy to have them there and will have a special area for them to hang out, play games, and be supervised! Therefore, please let us know when you RSVP how many kids you are bringing and their ages. We will not be seating them at the adults table, as there is an area for all kids to eat together. No worries, you can definitely go check on them as many times as you wish in the play area we will have nearby.

Question

Banks

Answer

There are a few in Tepoztlán with an ATM (HSBC, BBVA, and others). US bank cards can be used there to withdraw in Mexican pesos, however they do charge a processing fee normally between $30-100 Mexican pesos.

Question

Cell phones

Answer

Depending on the carrier, you may have cell phone service if you have previously added an international phone package before travelling. Coverage in Tepoztlan is spotty, due to the mountains. If you are staying a few days, we recommend buying a SIM card at the airport. At terminal T1 in the upper level (planta alta) you can find two cell phone shops: "Movistar" from Monday-Sunday from 9am to 8pm or "Telcel" from 9am to 7pm. Depending on how much you will be using your cell phone, you can ask about their different plan options or just add about $200 Mexican pesos (or $10 USD) which should be enough in using Google Maps and Whatsapp (probably don't waste the data on social media scrolling, haha).

Question

Drinking Water

Answer

Tap water is unsafe to drink. Bottled water is completely safe, as well as the big gallons re-filled with purified water.

Question

Taxi in Tepoztlan

Answer

All events will take place at the "Hotel Jardín de la Abundancia". Feel free to ask the venue staff or reception desk for any help. They are happy to assist you in arranging an uber/taxi back to your hotel/airbnb after the wedding. Also, these are two local taxi companies in Tepoztlan you can call directly. 1. Radio Taxi H Independencia (Phone: +52-739-395-1076) 2. Radio Taxi Tepoztlán (Phone: +52-739-395-1618)

Question

Flights

Answer

We recommend flying to the Mexico City airport (MEX) which is the Aeropuerto Internacional de la Ciudad de México - Benito Juárez. From there, you have several options to arrive to Tepoztlán: driving, bus, or uber/taxi. If you have more days, we suggest that you fly in a few days before or stay after the wedding, so you have a chance to check out Mexico City. It is an incredible center for culture, art, and food.

Question

Taxi from Airport

Answer

You can take a Taxi or Uber to Tepoztlán and should cost about $1200 Mexican pesos (or about $60USD) directly from the taxi stand at the airport in Mexico City. This is by far the simplest option. The ride will take about 1.5 hours, depending on traffic.

Question

Renting a car

Answer

Tepoztlán is located 87km (54mi) from the Mexico City airport, which should be about 1.5 hours driving. You can rent a car at the airport, the counters for Hertz, Avis, National, and others are right outside the customs exits (we recommended to make a reservation beforehand). If you cannot drive a stick shift, make sure to request an automatic. Remember to carry at least $150 Mexican pesos (about $7 USD) in cash for tolls. Mexico City is very large, so do use the GPS to have directions! If you will not have internet service during your time in Mexico, probably don't rent a car, haha.

Question

Buses from Airport

Answer

From the Mexico City airport, find Terminal 1 to find the buses deparing to Tepoztlán. There should be buses running every day at: 07:00, 09:10, 14:10, 17:00. If you are completely relying on arriving by bus, and they are not running to Tepoztlán, don't worry you can also take a bus to Cuernavaca and from there take a taxi to Tepoztlán. However, if you are arriving late in the evening to the airport and plan on taking the bus, we recommend spending the night in Mexico City and then going in the morning to Tepoztlán. If you are already in Mexico City a few days prior, touristing and visiting, buses also run to Tepoztlán a few times a day from the Terminal Central del Norte. www.ado.mx
