Luke and Casey are so excited to share this special place with you! Woodend Mansion was built in 1927, and was designed by John Russell Pope (architect for the Jefferson Memorial - where Luke popped the question!). The original owners, Chester and Marion Wells, also met in Australia! The grounds are spectacular, and we encourage our guests to take some time to explore around the gardens and landscape.
12:00 pm - 4:30 pm
This event is casual attire. Feel free to wear clothes and shoes you would be comfortable walking around in.
There is nothing better than a day in the park! Come join us at one of our favorite spots in DC. We will have lawn games, food, and drinks. Stop by anytime and stay for as long as you would like. Charlie of course will be there to say hi. Note: There is a pavilion for coverage and picnic tables (Still BYOC: bring your own chairs if you would like). Bathrooms are accessible by 5 min walk up stairs or a quick drive. Directions to the Picnic Spot: In Maps you can enter "Picnic Grove #13, Western Ridge Trail, Washington, DC 20015". The picnic area is off of a main road (Military Road NW) and on the main loop of the park (Glover Rd NW). It is easily accessible by Uber or Lyft.
