We first crossed paths years ago through mutual friends. Over time, Joe asked Carli to design the decals for his new boat, the F/V Beast of Burden. Though just friends then, Carli always admired Joe’s quick wit, kind smile, and hardworking spirit. Joe, on the other hand, enjoyed watching Carli work on his boats—and behind the bar at Pat’s Pizza and the Rathskeller. Whenever he was home from fishing, he’d often find himself there, lingering until closing time just to catch a few more moments with his favorite bartender. Years passed without romance, but eventually Carli gave in. In 2023, they started dating, and Joe happily welcomed Alfie, Carli’s dog, into his life. From there, everything fell into place. Together they’ve built a life they love, welcoming their daughter, Avery Louise, and settling in Scarborough, where they often host friends and family—making their home as full and joyful.
