There are a limited number of 1 or 2 queen bed Glamping tents available for our guests to book from Thursday afternoon to Sunday morning, available on a first-come-first-served basis. Please reach out to Caren (630.485.0904) or Anthony (630.618.9942) if you’d like to inquire about Glamping accommodations. There are also plenty of other wonderful accommodation options on the travel page, as well as stellar AirBnBs in the area! We will be providing transportation to and from a central location in downtown Grand Lake on the day of the wedding.
The Glamping Tents at Arapaho Valley Ranch are a far cry from your standard camping experience. They include all the amenities you’d expect in a hotel room - a real bed with fresh linens on an elevated platform surface, clean towels, a couch/sofa sleeper, and a front porch with chairs, as well as waterproof canvas siding with ample room to stand/walk around in. Also included are battery banks for charging phones and small devices, coolers, a wood-burning stove for extra warmth, and a mini kitchen which includes plates, bowls, mugs, silverware, a two-burner propane stove, cookware, a kettle, and French press for coffee. Nearby, you’ll find a bathhouse with private rooms that include all the modern wonders you might expect - hot showers, flushable lavatories, and sinks for your convenience.
Totally! We have listed a number of good options on our travel page. We will be arranging limited transportation from a central location on Saturday for the wedding. There will NOT be Ubers/Lyfts/etc in the area, so planning ahead on how to get to and from the venue will be necessary.
Whether you’re staying on or offsite, we recommend packing just like you might for any other wedding weekend - but in addition, we recommend leaving room for weather appropriate clothes (it WILL get cold at night, pack accordingly), comfortable and practical shoes for the wedding (shoes you're able to walk on grass/packed dirt with, no high pointy heels please), sunglasses, a hat, a swim suit (if you want to swim in the river), and sunscreen as the majority of time will be spent outside. We also highly recommend bringing a refillable water bottle to reduce plastic consumption. There will be filtered water on site. There are lots of things to do (see the Things to Do page) outside of regular wedding activities as well. It’s the mountains, so optional items to bring include hiking shoes, activewear clothing, and anything else that you might need to participate in outdoor activities.
YES. It will drop in temperature at night. Please bring your party furs, jackets, or any other layers you feel you will be most comfortable in. The outdoor events will end at 10pm, but as soon as the sun goes down it will be chilly. The mornings warm up quickly but expect highs of low to mid 70s during the day, and low 50s at night and early mornings.
Great question! The dress code is "Funky Festive." Don't stress too much about the overall formality of the outfit, but think fun colors, textures, patterns, or all in one. We've put together a Pinterest board, but at the end of the day we want you to wear what makes you feel your best. Check it out at the link below. https://pin.it/1aWLTSGRJ It is very important to consider the mountain location when choosing an outfit. Sensible shoes and heels that you can walk on grass and compact dirt in, layers including shawls and jackets, and sunscreen will be your biggest friends. The weather can be warm during the day but will cool down rapidly as soon as the sun goes down. We'll have a bonfire (barring a fire ban) and heaters, but it is always best to be prepared.
Part of our planning includes communal meals held at Arapaho Valley Ranch for Thursday Dinner, Friday Lunch, our Welcome Party Dinner on Friday, Wedding Day Brunch on Saturday, and of course Hors D'oeuvres and Dinner at the Wedding itself. Please plan for your own snacks or meals outside of those times. All meals are open to all, whether you are staying on-site or off-site. We kindly ask that you RSVP to the events you plan on attending to help us better plan for the amount of food ordered. We’re also planning to provide beverages (alcoholic and non) for our Welcome Party and Wedding Day events, but strongly encourage everyone bring their own water bottles, and any other beverages you may want to enjoy throughout the weekend. There will be water re-fill stations on-site. There is a small general store located at Arapaho Valley Ranch that offers ice, snacks, and non-alcoholic beverages for purchase. Cabins will have refrigerators, and all glamping tents/tipis/yurts come furnished with a cooler if needed!
Yes! Please contact us directly and we will make sure that you are taken care of. Most of our dishes will be gluten-free, and we will provide vegetarian options as well. If you have a food allergy or restriction beyond these, please let us know in advance and we will accommodate.
Denver International Airport is the best option! There are shuttles and a train for purchase (see the Travel page) to and from DIA and Granby, but you might want to rent a car to be able to explore the area.
We love your children, but ask that alternative plans are made for them for the weekend. If you are unable to find alternative plans, please reach out to us and we will work something out!
