Created as a trail to improve overall walkability and connectivity between neighborhoods surrounding the city of Atlanta, the beltline has drawn much development and also much debate in recent years. It's a great way to do some sightseeing around the city, but should be avoided due to crowds on weekends. Highly recommend as an option for guests planning to arrive earlier during the week for our wedding.
Great place to grab a quick bite or do a little boutique shopping. For the native New Yorkers, it might also feel familiar to a certain Chelsea Market. Fun Fact: Both properties were developed by the same real estate company.
If you love immersive video game experiences or what to try something out of the box, this is the place for you! With great cocktails and a rotating DJ on weekends, Revery is a great place to unwind in the evening for those looking to try a whole new kind of bar experience.
If you're with a group of diners with varied tastes for the night, this is the place for you. It is best to visit Krog Street Market for a late lunch or early dinner to avoid longer waits and crowds. Krog Street has multiple restaurants, and additional eateries like bakeries and butcher shops. If you're seeking traditional sit-down meal we highly recommend Superica. If your group wants to sample multiple types of cuisine, you can opt to individually purchase meals and eat communally in the market dining area.
Given the events of the past year and half, we wanted to ensure we included the center in our list. It provides an immersive experience for understanding and engaging with the concepts of freedom, justice, and human dignity for all.
Beautiful modern museum with unique rotating exhibits, june exhibit is yet to be announced. For movie buffs, you might recognize the High as the "Museum of Great Britain" in Marvel's Black Panther. Fun Fact: There is actually is no real "Museum of Great Britain" in the UK, the museum instead is most likely based off the "British Museum".
Perfect for an outing with the little ones! Fun Fact: from its opening in 2005 until 2012 it was the largest aquarium in the world. Today it is the third largest.
For all the coke addicts out there, the world of coke will not disappoint. Proceed with caution as the exhibit also contains a section to sample coke beverages from all over the world.
Slightly south of the city, and a great day outing for the little ones.
Right across the street from Ponce City Market, the Old Fourth Ward park is a great place for relaxing in the sun after a quick lunch and shopping break. With fountains and a playground it's also an ideal stop for a play break with the children.
One of my all-time favorite local haunts, introduced by the family taste-maker, Walter Samuel II.
Beautiful skyline views of the city with a youthful crowd, operating at a lower capacity to account for Covid. Recommend going earlier in the day or evening with a smaller group.
Fun bar with tons of board and arcade games for the younger crowd to participate in.
For beer lovers - this fun brewery is within a short walking distance from piedmont park, making it the perfect stop during a stroll through the park. It's most famous for its Atlanta Plum Sour beer, but offers a rotating selection.
2017 Restaurant of the Year Winner in Bon Appetite Magazine, and a personal recommendation of local restaurant expert, Walter Samuel (Older Brother). Covid-friendly with plenty of outdoor seating and contactless payment.
Another great dining option near midtown with cool aesthetics and a great menu.
Staple choice for midtown dining with a beautiful bar and patio setup perfect for the younger or older crowds of diners.
Although it's little further than some of the other dining options listed, Marcel's is the ultimate high-end steakhouse with celebrated premium cuts of beef and a fantastically long wine and cocktail selection.
Innovative Asian fusion restaurant, that's also kid-friendly (Zoƫ approved).
For those who have rental cars or are driving into town, Arabia Mountain Path is a fantastic not difficult hiking trail about 35 minutes outside of the city. If you're feeling adventurous and craving some fresh air and/or beautiful scenery we highly recommend checking it out.
Just a 25 minute drive south of the city, Cascade Springs is a beautiful easy hiking trail perfect for getting some exposure to a different part of the city while getting some good recreational activity in.
Fun, hip, and mainly millennial occupied neighborhood of the city with fun scenery (graffiti murals), interesting history, and cool local eateries. This is a great place to get lost in and wander around in during the day. Also in close proximity to Krog Street Market and the Beltline.
