The Story of Sam and Zach

It all began on January 18th, 2011

Sam's Story: In the Spring of 2011, I began my Bachelors program at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. I was very shy and struggled to meet people in my general education classes. I remembered how easy it was to talk to people in band, so I made a last minute decision to join. The class was a lot of fun, and I met a lot of incredible musicians. It wasn't until class ended and I was going to the lockers to put my flute away that I heard it: a laugh. This wasn't just any laugh though, it was the most genuine and joyful laugh I have ever heard in my life. I stopped and smiled, and then he turned the corner, and I saw his face. I. Froze. Up. I just stared at this beautiful man as he walked by me. I was so starstruck that my head literally followed him as his body went around me. He looked at me, and my heart lit up. His brow started to furrow, and his lips were pursed in confusion. He said "...bye", because what else do you say to a stranger who is staring at you, but I could only think about when we could formally say, "Hello". Zach's Story: Sam and I met when I was a Junior at Bloomsburg university. One day after Concert Band rehearsal in Haas I saw her staring at me down the hall. As I passed I simply said “ bye”. That’s where it all began. We started hanging out more and making lots of friends together through Marching Band and our band organizations. We became so close that in my last year and a half at BU we were roommates bringing us even closer together. After I graduated I visited her many times. When I got a job in Philly I asked Sam if she was interested in living together and she gladly followed. This is when I knew Sam was something special. After years of friendship we finally decided to start dating. I knew she was the one and after 2 years of dating I proposed right where we met outside of HAAS. We've been on many adventures together, through thick and thin! I can’t imagine life without her and look forward many wonderful years as husband and wife!
