We encourage guests to reserve a cabin at the Bear River Lodge. We don't have blocked out rooms, but the resort is giving everyone in our group 25% off their accommodations. If you'd like to collaborate with other guests and book a larger cabin (2 bedroom or 5 bedroom), please let us know and we can connect you with other guests.
Unfortunately no, this wedding is a little off the beaten path, and the venue is in Uintas wilderness. Getting around the property will require some walking, and the location of the ceremony may require some off-roading. There are staircases to the doors of the private cabins, but some cabins have ground-floor bedroom and bathroom accommodations.
If a guest is invited, your invite will list a plus-one option. If you don't see a plus-one on the invitation, and you need a buddy for the weekend, please let us know and we can try to accommodate your guest based on availability after RSVP's are received.
Children under the age of 11 are not allowed. All other youngsters welcome!
We strive to obey all rules set by the venue and the State of Utah. Beer and wine will be served at the reception, and hard liquor will be allowed in the cabins and at the private bonfire only. Please bring your own liquor and plan to keep track of it throughout the evening.
Bear River Lodge is positioned on the Evanston side of Highway 150 (The Mirror Lake Highway). The easiest route is to take I-80 to Evanston Wyoming, take exit 5 for Rt 150, and follow the highway til you reach the Lodge! For a scenic experience, enter the Mirror Lake Highway in Kamas and enjoy the foliage all the way up the mountain.
We consider this a Rustic Semi-Formal wedding -- Sunday best meets cozy sweater weather. For ladies, a dress you'd wear during the holidays, a nice shawl, and some boots are appropriate (Please do not wear high heels). For gents, a sweater, three-quarter zip, or jacket with dress pants and dress shoes.
Anticipate chilly weather - cool mornings and even colder nights. In case of rain, we'll move the party indoors, but we plan to host the ceremony in the morning in the scenic outdoors. Dress in layers and plan to keep warm. Historical averages show a low of 35F at night and a high of 60F during the day.
Of course we'll feed you. We'll have a soup bar Friday evening as people arrive and check in to their cabins. On Saturday, a light breakfast will be served before the ceremony, then enjoy a lunch buffet at the reception. Dinner will include grill fare and wrap up with smores by the campfire. On Sunday, a full continental breakfast will be provided before check-out time. If you have dietary restrictions, each cabin is fully equipped (even the Studio cabins), and we encourage you to make sure you have enough to eat in case you are unable to enjoy the catered meals. The general store on-site has some ingredients. The closest Walmart grocery is a half hour away in Evanston WY.
This is an unplugged ceremony, BUT we welcome all photographers. NO to phones, YES to cameras. If you would like to be a part of the photo team, even if it's a polaroid, please let us know. SD cards will be collected at the end of the day, but aspiring photographers are welcome to keep copies for their portfolios. You may use your cell phone after the ceremony, but be warned, there is no cell service!
Yes, use the #CampArmstrong hashtag, and tag us on Facebook!
Unfortunately, we will not have service in the mountains and will not have access to livestreaming or video calling. We will be sure to record a video to share to folks who can't make it (and for us to rewatch over and over and over).
As early as possible. We anticipate cabins filling up very quickly, so it's important to take advantage of the availability now while you still can.
Yes, we will be renting a large SUV to provide transportation to and from the airport. If you do not plan on arranging your own rental vehicles, please let us know so we know how many vehicles to rent!
Since we will be deep in the woods, we will do our best to ensure everyone is educated about risks in the outdoors. This includes: Proper clothing and footwear, interactions with wildlife, outdoor conditions, how to stay warm and dry, and more. We will be well-equipped with first aid kits and bear spray and will provide a safety briefing at the Welcome Dinner on Friday and again before the Ceremony.
