Welcome to our wedding!
Once upon a time, in the steamy realm of apartment complex hot tubs, Jake and Audrey's fates entwined in April 2021. Fast forward to June, Jake sees Audrey on her neighborhood walk and, with a burst of enthusiasm, yells, "HEY! Do you want to come to the pool with me tonight?" Audrey pondered. With a sparkle of curiosity, she dashed home, donned her swimsuit, and joined Jake and his kiddos for poolside frolics. This bubbly routine continued for weeks until Audrey jetted off on vacation. Upon her return, who should be her airport knight but Jake, who then whisked her away for a charmingly modest date at Sizzler before delivering her home like the perfect gentleman. Just 45 minutes later, Audrey couldn't resist the pull of their budding connection and texted Jake, "You doing anything this afternoon?" Jake, equally smitten, replied, "No! Do you want to come over?" Audrey responded with a swift, "Yup." And thus, a delightful chapter in their lives began, filled with laughter, love, and a touch of everyday magic.
Jake hails from the mitten state of Michigan, and Audrey calls the charming landscapes of Connecticut her home. Despite being Utah newbies, they've embraced every twist and turn the state has to offer. From the balmy days of summer to the frosty depths of winter, their free time is an endless quest for discovery. National Parks? Check. Mountain camping? Absolutely. Snow? Bring it on! ❄️ Locals have commended their efforts and knowledge of the area, noting that many folks who have lived here their whole lives haven't ventured as far as the pair. It's as if Jake and Audrey have a secret map to the hidden wonders of the Beehive State, and they aren't slowing down anytime soon.
Audrey, with her keen eye for capturing the perfect shot, and Jake, with his love for the peaceful art of fishing, have found the perfect playground in Utah. Since their move, they've not only honed their own talents but also taken on the delightful challenge of learning each other's hobbies. Most weekends see Audrey reeling in fish with finesse, often outpacing Jake. Meanwhile, Jake's become quite the shutterbug, snapping away with growing confidence. Together, they form the ultimate adventure duo—camera in one hand, fishing rod in the other. From serene lakeside fishing trips to breathtaking photo excursions, their shared experiences are a testament to their love and commitment to exploring life together.
During a camping escapade in the enchanting High Uintas Wilderness, Jake was meticulously tending to a crackling campfire while Audrey was concocting a hearty jambalaya for dinner. With their backs turned to the whispering brush, a resounding "CRACK" echoed through the air. Audrey spun around on her heel, her eyes widening as she beheld a majestic female moose, standing regally just 10 feet away. The moose, equally astonished to find humans intruding on her favorite stroll, paused in her tracks. Audrey, heart racing, darted for her camera and urgently whispered, "Jake! JAKE!" Alas, Jake, entirely engrossed in his fire-tending duties, did not hear her. Audrey, undeterred, snapped her fingers and whispered with renewed urgency. Finally, Jake responded with a loud, "WHAT WOMAN!" Audrey, pointing dramatically, simply said, "Moose." Jake, with a comedic blend of realization and haste, exclaimed, "Oh!" and quickly made way for their unexpected, graceful guest. The magnificent moose, with an air of casual elegance, approached the fire and sauntered through the campsite as if it were part of her daily routine. She gave one last, quizzical glance over her shoulder at the bewildered humans before continuing on her merry way, leaving behind a campsite abuzz with wonder and a tale to tell.
When Audrey started dating Jake, she adopted a pet betta fish and affectionately named him Jet. For the first three years of their relationship, Jet swam through life's highs and lows, holidays, and the move to a new apartment—all from the safety of his little fishbowl kingdom. With his shimmering scales, he was the silent observer, the wise little guardian of their love story. After Jet passed away, Audrey and Jake decided to honor their finned friend by writing and producing a heartfelt short film titled "Fish Eye View." This cinematic gem, inspired by Jet's life, offers a unique perspective on their journey together—proof that even a tiny fish can leave a big splash on our hearts. During their unforgettable Hawaii vacation in 2024, Jake and Audrey decided to explore the hidden wonders of the Big Island. Their favorite moments came from an off-the-beaten-path adventure—a six-mile hike into the dense jungle. With mud up to their knees, they trudged along, with Audrey making a heroic leap over a large puddle, only to unknowingly drop her phone mid-air. Twenty minutes later, realization struck—Audrey's phone was missing! They retraced their steps, scouring the muddy trail for a half-hour, while passing hikers offered a mix of sympathy and skepticism, saying, "Good luck with that!" Just when hope seemed lost, a miraculous beam of light, as if from the heavens, shone through the trees and illuminated the phone, half-buried in the mud like the legendary sword in the stone. To their amazement, the phone still worked! Although its camera didn't survive the mud bath, the cherished memories and adventures captured on it were safe and sound. This serendipitous moment became one of their favorite stories from the trip, a testament to their adventurous spirits and unwavering optimism.
Audrey and Jake's first real adventure together was a magical journey to Zion National Park. It was their inaugural escapade into the wild, packing hiking gear and diving into the desert's rugged beauty. On their very first hike, they brought everything: hiking poles, sturdy boots, a backpack brimming with snacks and an extra layer—everything, except water. Four miles into the hike, they found themselves relying on the trail's snow patches to quench their thirst. It was an unforgettable lesson in preparedness! Years later, as they reminisced about that eventful trek, Jake reflected on how much they had grown as a team, becoming more prepared and adventurous with each new journey. With a sparkle in his eye and the dramatic backdrop of Zion's majestic rock formations, he got down on one knee and said he wanted to continue exploring new places and trying new things together, forever.
