Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Jaime Burns and Adam Lurie
For being NY local our whole lives, we haven't done much of the "touristy" things. The recommendations below are a combination of things people say folks must see, or are local to the venue, or are our personal favorite spots (even if a bit further than Jersey City/downtown Manhattan).

Liberty Science Center

222 Jersey City Boulevard, Jersey City, NJ 07305

Adam originally tried to see if we could host our wedding here. They never responded. So now y'all should enjoy it for us instead.

Catch a Broadway (or Off-Broadway) Show!

1681 Broadway, New York, NY 10019

There are always fantastic shows to go see. Our favorites currently running are Hamilton & Hadestown, but there are loads of great options.

Bryant Park Winter Village

6th Avenue, New York, NY 10018

The Winter Village will be in full swing. It may be packed during New Years weekend, but if not, the ice skating and the delicious food stand treats are a great way to spend an afternoon.

Central Park

New York, NY

Pier 17

89 South Street, New York, NY 10038

Our friends Devon and Alex live near the South Street Seaport and you can often find a cool pop up shop and delicious eateries nearby, including the Tin Building.

Industry City

220 36th Street, Sunset Park, NY 11232

Our friends Ciara and Ryan live nearby, so we usually stop by during Ciara's birthday to partake in outdoor lawn activities or axe throwing or some cozy hot apple ciders. There are also several delicious food shops and stores if you get there before 8 or 9 pm.

Museum of the Moving Image

36-01 35th Avenue, Astoria, NY 11106

One of our favorites in our stomping grounds. If you haven't seen the Jim Henson exhibit, it's an absolute delight.
