I'm Sarah, the writer behind this site and organizer of this exciting event, because let's be honest, I'm the type A personality in our relationship! I'm an artist and entrepreneur; an environmental advocate, hiker and road biker; a lover of food, but an absolute fanatic for cupcakes. I'm known as the "hippie-dippie" one in my immediate family; I cry easily (for good and for bad); and I always trust my gut.

Infamously known as the "red-headed-chef" on Instagram, Christian is a chef, cheese-monger and creative. He loves all things food, literature and music; he can't possibly shy away from a cat or dog; he can talk your ear off and thanks to his three sons, he has mastered the skill of cracking some serious Dad-jokes. His unwavering perseverance has led him through six years of sobriety. He's empathetic, kind and sincere; always willing to be of support to those he loves.

Anna Ersenkal

Anna and I met as roommates while studying abroad in Florence, Italy. We were both in art school - I was living in Baltimore and Anna in DC - but, amazingly enough, we needed to travel half way around the world to meet each other. Despite being complete opposites - there's a funny story about the physical line of clothes, shoes, books and more that split our room in Italy - we truly are soulmates; two faces of the same coin.

Affectionately known as Umpie Mike to Christian's three boys; his voice rings, albeit loud, but true in Christian's head, having helped guide him into being the man he is today. Discovering music in their coming of age years with Mike, Christian couldn't be who he is without him, nor would he want to.

Ornella is a dear friend and mentor to both of us: together as a family unit, a couple and as individuals. We first met in the Winter of 2021 when Ornella was leading a parents' group; Christian and I joined out of desperation for support and found such kindness, connection and honesty in Ornella. Our relationship grew through individual counseling sessions and Summer camps with Red. We feel a kinship to Ornella; she has such an affectionate understanding of who we are individually and how we want to be together. We couldn't imagine anyone else guiding us through the promises of marriage.
