One of the cafes where Sarah has worked! We recommend popping by on your way up Thursday or Friday - it's right off the interstate and will help fuel the last stretch of your journey! Not only are their drinks top notch, but they small-batch roast all the coffee beans right there in shop! When she was a barista there, Sarah's favorite drink was the Matcha Latte! Yes, it's green, but she promises, delicious!!
Christian's place of work! We recommend swinging through on your way out of town Sunday or Monday. Taking inspiration from family holidays, Christian started a tradition of "Sunday Strata" so be on the look out for that special; otherwise, their breakfast sandwiches are always a hit!
Incredible BBQ and great, local beer smoked and brewed right in town! Sarah and her parents visited after their tour of The Soule House last Summer. Their outdoor patio seating was the perfect place to have lunch, beautiful, cool and private. We'd highly recommend swinging by for some grub or pre-gaming before the celebration!
Delicious French pastries with local Vermont ingredients; a must visit when that close to the Canadian border!
In total, the Burlington Greenway stretches 8 miles of paved pathways, connecting some of the cities greatest parks, beaches and recreational areas. We recommend visiting the northern end: parking at either Airport Park or the Causeway Bike Path Parking area, and following the Colchester Bike Path towards the Colchester Causeway, a man-made causeway connecting mainland Burlington to Grand Isle, amidst Lake Champlain. It's perfectly picturesque; great for walking or riding a bike!
Although the Farms and Museum are in two different locations, just down the street from each other, they both offer a wonderful collection of art, nature and true Vermont culture. Visit the Farms for a nature walk, as they offer over 10 miles of trails, or some Vermont retail therapy at their Farm Store, offering local cheese, meat, veggies and of course, maple syrup. Visit the Museum to explore American folk and decorative art all displayed in historic buildings across the property.
A fun alternative to restaurants or bars, offering some snacks, drinks and plenty of board games. We visited once with dear friends and absolutely loved engaging together with games and laughter.
Although Church Street is a tourist favorite for shopping in Burlington, The Outdoor Gear Exchange stands out! It's a must-go-to stop every time we're in the city, even if we don't need anything! They offer new items as well as used, traded-in and consigned outdoorsy finds!
