White Rock Lake
Perfect for a sunny day. Trail available for walking, running, or biking. There is also a bike rental service and a water activity rental service (kayaking, canoeing).
Bishop Arts District
This is probably one of our favorite places in Dallas, but is quite an Uber from the recommended hotels. This area is extremely walkable and has a quaint main road. Some of our favorite places here are: Lockhart's BBQ, Bishop Cider Co., Cigar Art, and Paradiso.
Deep Ellum
A great Dallas staple. Some of our favorite places to go in Deep Ellum are: Pecan Lodge (get here early and you will still have to wait in line), Canne Rosso Pizzeria, Emporium Pies, Deep Ellum Brewery, Dots Hop House, and Brain Dead Brewery.
Lower Greenville
Another very walkable area once you arrive. It houses some great bars & restaurants, such as Wabi House (ramen), Truckyard (fully outdoor bar), HG Supply, Libertine bar, & a quick hop over to Gloria's Latin Cuisine or the infamous Campisi's Restaurant (Pizza & Italian).
Dallas Downtown Historic District
Downtown Dallas has some great museums, some free, some not - 6th floor museum, Dallas Museum of Art, Nasher, and Perot. The Dallas Farmer's market is great to go to on a Saturday morning. Also, Klyde Warren Park is in downtown Dallas. When the weather is nice, people will go to Klyde Warren, get food from one of the many food trucks, and sit and eat on the grass.
Downtown Plano
Downtown Plano is where the ceremony and reception will take place. It is also home to many restaurants that we enjoy - Lockharts BBQ, Urban Crust, and Ebisu. Arbor Hills is also not far from Downtown Plano and is a 200 acre nature reserve with trails available to the public.
