Maid of Honor
Alex & I met in high school through soccer. This was a brand new school for me and Alex, being the kind person she is, took me under her wing. We became fast friends and pretty much spent all our time together in high school, and even college at FSU (GO NOLES!). The thing I admire most about Alex is her kindness and selflessness. She is always there for those she cares about and I appreciate that. My favorite memory of Alex is tough to decide, because there are so many, but it is probably the kiwi incident. Definitely feel free to ask her about it!
Best Man
Travis and I met and became best friends in study hall during freshman year of high school. Throughout the years, we've shared many residences, music tendencies, and travel stories. Travis' loving nature is only reflected by all who call him a friend. Like all the guys on this list, its hard to pick one favorite memory, but if I had to choose it would be the trip to Japan, Korea, and Taiwan where we continued to try new food and learn new things. I even got to witness getting his first ever tattoo in Korea.
Bridesmaid
Haley & I technically met at her birth as she is my younger sister. Over the years, we have always been there for each other, but we have also driven each other absolutely CRAZY - as sisters do right? I would get so angry when she tried to match with me, but I am so proud of the women she has become. The thing that I admire most about Haley is how true to herself she is. She is strong in her beliefs and has a confidence I cannot even begin to explain. My favorite memory of Haley is snorkeling in Thailand - love you sis!
Groomsman
Jason and I shared parents, schools, sport choices, and a bathroom growing up. Jason and I mastered the perfect bigger brother - little brother dichotomy. He perfected on how to slightly bully me and perfected on how to get him in trouble. As we grew older, the bickering went away and began to look up to him. There is so much I can say about Jason. He is smart, kind, selfless, and not to mention worse at hearts than me. I'm honored to have him by my side at the wedding, but even more honored to have him as my brother.
Bridesmaid
Diana & I met in high school through Alex and Andrea. We always got along great, but did not hang out often until college (again, GO NOLES!). That is truly when we began to get close - the tailgates, the sleepovers, the surprise birthday visit even though you were studying - all built our friendship to an unbreakable bond. The thing I admire most about Diana is her fight and strength. When Diana sets her mind on something, she will absolutely achieve it - no doubt about it. My favorite memory of Diana is her first white coat ceremony, where all the girls (and Kyle) gathered to celebrate her success, and I cannot wait to do it again at her second.
Groomsman
Karlis and I met during an incoming freshman camp for Texas A&M. I have too many stories of Karlis' dominating a sport or competition but when I think of Karlis, I always think of his helpful nature. His selflessness to always lend a helping hand no matter what he has going on has made him a great lab partner and an even better friend. One of my favorite memories of Karlis is when he won our Texas A&M ring dunk. According to his mom, he doesn't even like to drink...just win.
Bridesmaid
Adeline & I met in graduate school. It started with 14 of us in our year and quickly morphed to 13, and there the Thirsty 13 cohort emerged. Adeline is always down to hangout and will talk on the phone with you until 2am if needed. She is also one of the kindest people I know. She is also one of the biggest procrastinators, and I say that out of love, as I am the complete opposite (over planner)! The thing I admire about Adeline is how supportive she is of the people she loves. My favorite memory of Adeline is Philly, with Meaghan, and all the selfie evidence that shows we knew what we were doing that night.
Groomsman
Austin and I became friends senior year of high school when they were the only upper-classmen in 10th grade chemistry. From there, we decided to room together for the next 4.5 years of college. Austin's sly humor and constant desire for self growth has always been something I've appreciated. My favorite memory of Austin is more an amalgamation of the many ATX weekends filled with live music, food, and conversation.
Bridesmaid
Andrea & I met in high school through soccer (and her twinny). She was infuriating because she was good at it all - she could literally play any position and crush it. Oh, this was also true for pretty much any sport. She is also one of the funniest people I had ever met, constantly pulling pranks on her twinny, out of love of course. What I admire most about Andrea is how true to herself she is and how honest she is. My favorite memory of Andrea is when she shared a prank she had pulled on Alex in college. She led Alex to believe the music was not working while Alex was showering, but Andrea had continuously snuck in and turned her music off. It is much better when Andrea tells it!
Groomsman
Nick "Tricky" Lahutsky and I first became friends during a summer baseball league in 8th grade. The friendship grew through many shared classes (upper school & college) and now sharing Stars hockey season tickets. I have always admired Nick's approach to himself being one that is unapologetic and one that is set on long term goals. My favorite memory of Nick is the week long trip in Peru where on New Year's Eve he decided to take over on drums at the local watering hole.
Bridesmaid
Meaghan and I met in grad school. She was and still continues to be our Jersey girl. She may be a little loud, but she is also always the one to ask you to text her when you get home. Many nights in grad school were spent just hanging out at Meaghan & Emily's apartment - studying, watching movies, and trying to figure out how we were going to make it through grad school. The thing I admire most about Meaghan is her pursuit of her goals - whether it is her career, her personal growth, or her desire to travel, she always makes it happen. My favorite memory of Meaghan is also a Philly trip where we got snowed in and still had a great time just binge watching a whole season of Top Chef.
Groomsman
Mark & I became friends in high school where they played many hours of WoW & Tiger Woods Golf 08 together. Mark & I also were roommates post college in the 5 person & a dog house known as the rat pack. I admire Mark's ability to fully commit to something such as his races as well as his ability to make decisions that he wants even if others think he is crazy (Portugal). My favorite memory of Mark was taking a boys trip to Montana for a 17 mile race in the mountains. Like all race trips, mark planned the whole thing. While I won't do another Spartan Mountain Race again, I'll gladly do another race weekend with Mark.
Bridesmaid
Sandra & I met in grad school - are you seeing a theme yet? When Sandra & I first met, I will admit, I thought she hated me. This quickly changed once I started to got to know her and spend time with her. She's funny and surprising - our dancing queen, our fire cracker, and our planner. The thing I admire most about Sandra is her honesty - I can always count on her to tell me like it is in the pursuit of being better. My favorite memory of Sandra is the trip we took down the west coast just the two of us - Seattle, Portland, and San Francisco. It wasn't the smoothest of trips, but we had so much fun and ate some amazing food!
Groomsman
Greg and I became friends working together at Texas Instruments. The friendship started around the love for America's Team (Dallas Cowboys) but grew as we continued to hangout outside of work. I admire Greg's work ethic but I admire Greg's selflessness more. Greg is always one to put others before himself and it is really shown through his actions. Him and his wife, Itzel, even let me use his wife's birthday weekend as a cover to go to NYC and get engaged to Brooke. My favorite memory of Greg was the time we grilled out in his & Itzel's backyard with the discada.
Bridesmaid
Surprise - Emily & I also met in grad school. I'm telling you - we were and are all extremely close. Emily and I quickly bonded over country music, sports, and Disney. Whenever I needed a friend, Emily was always there. She spent a summer living with my family, so she's basically part of the family now! The thing I admire most about Emily is that she is fiercely loyal - I know she will always have my back if I need her. My favorite memories with Emily are probably the car rides from grad school to my parent's house during breaks. We would blast music, eat all our snacks, and sometimes Emily would nap on the dash.
Groomsman
Preston and I became roommates before they became friends. Preston was recommended as a good potential roommate one semester when Jeff, Travis, & Austin needed a 4th roommate. Preston and I (as well as Austin) continued to room together throughout the rest of college. I've always admired Preston's drive and unwillingness to compromise who is for others. My favorite memory of Preston was sharing housing together and performing pranks on all the roommates (remember the cowboy hat?).
Bridesmaid
Ashley is my older sister. Ashley is ten years older than me and although I don't remember, there are many pictures and stories of Ashley playing dress up and more with me when I was little. As I grew up, we had a great friendship - we had had many a fights during family trips, but we have also had some incredible experiences together. The thing I admire most about Ashley is her humor - she is always one to crack a joke and her laugh is infectious. My favorite memory with Ashley, because it is funny now, is when I was her maid of honor and had to give a speech at her wedding - let's just say no one could understand me because I was a little emotional, but was also so happy for her.
Groomsman
Sam & I became friends going out for an organization in college (which they both didn't get). Sam is known to be the life of the party which at times can drive me a little insane; but more often than not, is appreciated. Sam's ability to constantly critically think but also not overthink is something I admire. More often than not, you can find Sam with a drink, cigar, or book in hand. My favorite memory of Sam was one of the Times I visited Sam in Houston and I got to witness Sam rock climbing for the first time but we had a really good conversation over 2 cigars on his complex's balcony.
Bridesmaid
Sarah & I also met in grad school - shocker, I know. Sarah and I became close in grad school in so many ways - keeping each other on schedule, study groups, 21st birthday sign (mine), taking that awful teaching course, sharing an office second year, and girl's nights. The thing I admire most about Sarah is her joy for others - she is always the one to congratulate and celebrate her friend's successes and we will always be there to celebrate hers! My favorite memories of Sarah are all of our travels - the lakehouse, visiting each other, etc. - where we always tend to share a room and stay up late catching up.
Groomsman
James and I became friends as teammates on the high school wrestling team. I always hated that James could eat food prior to weigh in, but once the tournaments started we would hang out a ton. In highschool the conversations mostly were about books and video games. As time grew on, its grown to career and life goals. Alongside with Mark Macmanus, James and I have a group chat that is centered around personal growth which has been a joy to be part of. My favorite memory of James was the trip to Peru with Nick & Travis.
