Meet us in Maui!

We met in junior high. We would spend hours each night chatting on AIM (screen names wishn4my1nonly & yourxlilxromeo) throughout the summer and fall of 2003. We eventually developed a teenage crush on each other. Jammie asked Brittany if he could call her to sing happy birthday when she turned 14. After that, we started talking on the phone every single night for hours on end. Finally, on November 15, 2003, Jammie snuck over to Brittany's house and asked her to be his girlfriend. We spent the next 15 years learning together and falling in love with each other. We grew from children to adults while learning about ourselves and each other along the way. There were lots of bumps along the road, but those are outweighed by all the stepping stones and memories. We are so lucky to have found each other so long. And somehow, we didn't get sick of each other. After 17 years of "going out," we are finally tying the knot. Not the traditional route, but we wouldn't have it any other way.

On New Years Eve 2019, Jammie was acting jittery. He asked Brittany to go pour them champagne around 11:55 to toast at midnight to the new year. When she walked back into the living room, he awkwardly blocked her from sitting on the couch with her drink. After giving a little speech that neither of us can really remember, he got down on one knee and asked if we could spend the rest of our lives together. She said YES! The ring was worth the wait, by the way.

Maui is a place near and dear to both of our hearts. Jammie was lucky enough to come to Maui with his family and enjoy the beauty and adventure of the Valley Isle with his brothers. Brittany similarly came to Maui with her family growing up and has been in love with the island ever since. We are so excited (and lucky!) to say I DO in our favorite place with all of our favorite people... you!!
