Question

How do I get to the reception from the ceremony?

Answer

From the church, head west toward Abrego street. Turn left onto Abrego street. Continue straight to stay on Munras Avenue. Then take the CA-1 S ramp. Travel on CA-1 S for about 3 miles. Then turn left onto Carmel Valley Road. Stay on this road for about 10 miles. Los Laureles Lodge has a white picket fence and palm trees. It is after Rancho Road on the left. If you enter Carmel Valley Village, you went too far! If you don't have a car, we encourage you to split an UberXL with family/friends, or try to catch a ride with another wedding guest!

Question

What is the COVID-19 Policy?

Answer

The local, state, and federal guidance is constantly changing. California's Governor Gavin Newsom has named June 15th as the projected date for California to fully reopen. This would allow for larger gatherings, full capacity indoors, and loosened mask restrictions for vaccinated folks. "California will keep existing mask guidance in place until June 15 when it aims to fully reopen the economy. After that, the state plans to allow fully-vaccinated Californians to go without a mask in most indoor settings. You will still have the option to wear a mask if you choose." (covid19.ca.gov) We highly encourage you to get your vaccination when you are eligible, especially if you live in California! We care deeply about everyone's health and safety and want our guests to be able to enjoy the day without worry. Please plan to mask up if your are not vaccinated or taking precautions, and stay at home if you are feeling sick! We will keep you updated as the pandemic evolves.

Question

What does a "Catholic Ceremony" mean?

Answer

Our union inside the Catholic Church means a great deal to us and our parents. San Carlos Church has served as an important place in Brittany’s educational and religious life. Father Robert, who will be presiding over the ceremony, has been an important figure in Adrian’s life through St. Ignatius of Antioch. We will hold a traditional Catholic Mass that includes the Sacrament of Marriage. A pamphlet will be provided for you to follow the order of mass. The final interactive part of Mass is accepting Holy Communion. If you are not Catholic or if you are not prepared to receive Communion, you can simply stay in your pew or come up to the priest for a blessing. We are overjoyed to be able to express our faith in God and love for each other with all of you present, and we welcome all family and friends to join us for a Catholic ceremony, regardless of your religious beliefs. We also respect freedom of religion and honor your decision to attend or participate in this part of our union.

Question

What do I pack?

Answer

California summer weather will be in full effect. As with most coastal cities, temperatures vary greatly by proximity to coast. Expect temperatures to be high 70s to low 80s in Carmel Valley and high 60s to low 70s in Monterey. Bring layers to be prepared! The ceremony and reception is formal attire. We want you to be comfortable - just no pajamas please. Prioritize outfits you can DANCE in!
