One of the things about Randi that caught my attention (besides her gorgeous blue eyes) was how much thought she put into describing the person she was looking for. I knew right away she was the perfect match for me! She naturally loves to help people, so I can always count on her for the best advice and am always impressed by her perspective. We have a running joke we often recite, which is that I am right, but she is “more right”. Her sense of humor is similar to mine, as evidenced by our ability to watch movies like Nacho Libre repeatedly. She is so funny that I maintain a document of quotes that we read often for laughs. Randi is highly organized and keeps a meticulous to-do list, so I can always count on her to do things she commits to. She is a very talented massage therapist, and that means I always get to mess with all of her strange gadgets, everything from red lights to chi machines. She naturally loves to help people and is a great friend. She shows a genuine interest and love for my kids that I’m very thankful for. We have so many things in common, from small and funny things such as disliking lemon in our water because the lemons are germy, love for grape candy, Mr. Goodbar, coffee, mountains over beaches, dogs over cats, Mexican food, steaks cooked to medium, etc., to the big things like our commitment to shared principles and our faith in Jesus. Randi encourages me to be the best version of myself. She is the best dance partner and just makes sense to me!

Brandon caught my attention with his patience and consistency. He demonstrated trustworthiness by consistently following through with promises. He does what he says he'll do. It doesn't sound exciting, but I was on the lookout for red flags, and Brandon just kept showing up with integrity and empathy, proving his sincerity over and over. Not only that, but he showed his commitment to understand me and his genuine desire to know me well. He never tires of listening to my thoughts and feelings. He always wants to know more. He has even reads books just because I'm reading it if he thinks it is something that will help him understand my perspective better. What's more is that I don't have to ask him to do these things. He takes the initiative, which is such an attractive quality. He doesn't even know how rare he is - He just thinks he's doing what most would do. I've never met anyone who I thought put anywhere near the same kind of effort into the relationship as I did, until Brandon. Brandon doesn't just match my effort, he inspires me to match his! He knows who he is and he doesn't lose sight of his blessings. He shares my awe that our God would love us so much that He would restore our lives and guide our ability to trust each other and bless us both by saving the best chapter for last.

Randi's long time best friend. Lauren is one of the most thoughtful, dedicated, selfless persons I've ever known. Her biggest downfall is not having enough of herself to go around. She is unbelievably intelligent and wise, and is always helpful and encouraging. Lauren is one of my most trusted advisers because she is able to empathize with others, help me refine my perspective, keeps me grounded, and leads with love. Her joy is being a mother and she immerses herself in trying to do what is best for her family while instilling a love for God and others.

Brandon's son. Micah is a good-natured hard-worker who puts in the time and effort to improve himself. He is self motivated and has the quiet confidence of knowing who he is and living according to his values. He's a talented musician who plays piano and drums and who has quickly risen to the upper ranks in band as a snare player through his dedication to practice and to challenge himself. He has an attitude of gratitude that makes him stand out, especially for a teenager. Look for the handsome guy with a happy demeanor who is taller than his dad now.

Randi's sweet friend, who was a blessing born out of shared grief and loss. Lori's friendship is one of the many ways God has shown His love for us through hardship. He has brought people into our paths that have been able to relate to our sorrows and have shared our burdens and demonstrated His enduring love with encouragement and faith building truth. The friendships He has blessed us with are real people who are messy, genuine, and imperfect, but who both cry with us when we hurt and celebrate with us during our joys.

One of Randi's most precious friends. Kylie jumps at the chance to serve others. She has been a gift of love, friendship, support, and understanding during some of the toughest moments in my life. She is hard working, industrious, independent, humble, genuine, a fierce protector, and speaks the truth in love.

Brandon's daughter. Sweet and sassy. This one is quick witted, talented, and so creative. Phoebe is always up for a game, especially one she makes up herself. She plays piano, drums, and tennis, and also sings in choir and the shower. However, you will be able to spot her immediately when she steals the show with her beautiful smile and Bambi eyes.

We couldn't think of anyone we'd rather have marry us! Jim is the Senior Pastor Emeritus at Saint Stephens Methodist Church and has been faithfully devoted to loving people and sharing God's word as a pastor since 1966. Randi has always been drawn to Jim's gentle kindness and obvious care for others and particularly loves when he gives a sermon. His messages are always knowledgable, wise, inspiring and direct, with a passion for people to really know God. Jim is a wonderful leader, family man, and example of character for many to emulate. He has created a legacy of Christ followers within his family and has been married to his lovely wife, LuAnn, for over 60 years! Surely he is the man for the job!
