Things To Do

Palo Duro Canyon State Park

11450 Park Road 5, Canyon, TX 79015

Second only to the Grand Canyon! It's a natural wonder with tons of hiking opportunities. Watch out for rattlesnakes though! Also, it can get really hot! Be prepared with lots of water and time to recover. However, Fall and Spring are some of the best times to visit with the temperatures cooling and the summer crowds gone.

Creekhouse Honey Farm

5005 4th Ave., Canyon, TX 79015
, 806-381-3446

This is a unique place with local honey products, bee-keeping tours and classes, along with a cafe and the Honey Buzz Winery where you can sample a variety of mead, wine, soups, salads, sandwiches, cheese boards, in addition to homemade honey. It's a beautiful and relaxing with a lovely outdoor setting to enjoy good food, views, and natural products. Brandon and I visited this place for an afternoon date in the Fall and enjoyed swinging on the porch swing while taste testing the delicious snacks.

Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum

2503 4th Avenue, Canyon, TX 79015

Texas' largest history museum! Randi has fond memories of this place as a little kid. She has visited multiple times in her life and was particularly amazed by the giant dinosaur skeletons, old timey buggies, and the life size Pioneer Town where there were often live actors bringing the Old West to life. This is a great place to visit with the whole family.
