Our first date was in February 2018 in San Jose, CA. Brandi had been living in the Bay Area since moving there for college, and Sean was half-way into a one year assignment in Cupertino before moving back to Philadelphia. Brandi said she was a little bit old fashioned. Sean ran with that. After stopping for milkshakes, we drove to a drive-in movie theater and spent the night so engaged in conversation that we talked through two consecutive showings of the movie without seeing more than a couple of scenes. By the end of date one, we both knew we had found something special.
We were engaged one year after our first date. Sean had since moved back to Philadelphia, and we were managing the distance via daily phone calls, weekend FaceTime chats, and monthly visits. After one of Sean’s visits to California, Brandi took him to the airport, we said our farewells, and Brandi drove to work. Instead of boarding a flight, Sean rented a car and spent the day decorating Brandi’s condo. After a long day in the office, Brandi got home from work and Sean was there to surprise her with his proposal.
On June 1st of this year, we were married in Brandi’s hometown of Honolulu, Hawaii. We had a small, family-only ceremony in honor of some relatives who are unable to travel. It is important to us to share this occasion with all of the special people in our lives, and we are so excited that this second event - this Celebration of Marriage - will allow us to share this milestone with you!
After our wedding, Brandi moved to Philadelphia. We’ve been settling-in to our new apartment and enjoying the fact that we’re no longer separated by thousands of miles. We’re looking forward to celebrating with you on November 9th in SLO!
