FAQs

The Wedding Website of Blair Englebrecht and Jaron Kelleher
If you have any additional questions or need clarification on anything please text Jaron at 321-591-0437 or Blair at 719-439-2882.
Question

Is the wedding going forward as planned in light of covid?

Answer

Yes! We know this may feel unsafe to some, and we do understand that. We hope that by requiring the vaccine you are able to feel protected at this event. Our guest count is about 60 people, which is well below the gathering limit in the state of Oregon. Also, the entire event will take place outdoors!

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

While we would prefer you do it soon after receiving your formal invitation, we understand that may not be possible for everyone. Jaron and I begrudge no one who responds "no." This year and planning a wedding has been nothing like we thought it would be, and we know that our wedding is not your top priority. Just please RSVP at the latest by June 30, 2021 so that we can have an accurate headcount for the venue. Additionally, know that the longer you wait the more likely it is that you will not be able to get accommodation in the hotels which provide a shuttle to the venue. As of My 3, they are over 85% full.

Question

Is the bride changing her name? Doesn't she love Jaron?

Answer

Though Blair respects everyone's decision on this difficult topic, she is resolute in keeping her own last name as she is proud of all she has and will accomplish as an Englebrecht. She is proud and excited to be marrying Jaron, and is happy to stand by his side and support him as Ms.Englebrecht. Jaron happily supports her decision. So please, while we appreciate the thoughtfulness of our friends and family who would like to give gifts, we would like to request no monogrammed or otherwise "Kelleher" branded gifts.

Question

What kind of footwear is appropriate?

Answer

Ladies and gents please do NOT wear heels. There is a short walk from the chairlift to the ceremony through the woods, and the ceremony to the alpine slide on a gravel path. The ceremony is on a patch of land that is covered with mulch, just trust me, this is not the time to break out your stilettos. We would recommend something with some grip, or at the very least something flat. If you simply must wear a heel, you *may* be able to get away with a small wedge, but we don't suggest it. And no, we will not reserve space on the shuttle based on footwear choices :) Age/physical need come first! You might be able to stash some heels at the bottom for the reception if you like. The bride will be in birkenstocks, in true Pacific Northwest fashion.

Question

What if I can't/don't want to ride a chairlift to your ceremony?

Answer

That is A-ok! The venue provides a shuttle service to and from the ceremony site for anyone who can't ride the chairlift or the alpine slide. Just please try and let us know in advance. Please note, we are going to reserve space on this shuttle for elderly/handicapped folks first, and there won't be room for everyone to use the shuttle. If the bride can alpine slide in a wedding dress, so can you!

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code is "semi-formal," meaning please no jeans. Below is how this code is described by the professionals and paraphrased by Blair, when in doubt text the bride with questions (not Jaron unless you want him to ask you what a cocktail dress is). Also, I very much understand that these may not be items that everyone has in your closet, please do not feel obligated to buy a new outfit if you're unable or don't want to! We just want you there and enjoying yourself. For anyone who likes to wear dresses: A summer sundress or cocktail dress is appropriate, a skirt is also a-ok. Leave the ball gowns at home. Again, for reinforcement, I do not recommend you wear heels. For anyone who likes to wear pants/suits: Wear dress pants or khaki pants with a collared shirt. You can add a tie or sport jacket if you'd like, but it's not required. Steer clear of any t-shirts or tennis shoes.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Jaron and I worked very hard on the guest list, and to ensure everyone we really want to share this day with us is able, we were very deliberate about our plus ones. Whichever names are on the invitation is who is invited, as in if there is no "and guest" we unfortunately weren't able to give you a plus one. If you'd like to request one, please contact us.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Kids are welcome if you would like to bring them. We are not providing childcare at the wedding. Please include them in the RSVP if they are old enough to require their own seat and meal.

Question

Do I have to stay at the places listed on your wedding website?

Answer

No! There are many rentals in the area, as well as a few more hotels. We want you to do whatever is comfortable and best for your family. If you do choose to stay elsewhere the shuttle service provided by the venue will not come pick you up, so please arrange for your own travel. Uber and Taxi's are not a thing in Government Camp.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

If you are staying at any of the three hotels listed on this site (excluding air bnb's), then yes. Details on the travel page.

Question

Do I need to rent a car?

Answer

The short answer is yes. Our venue is located in a teeny tiny ski town a little over an hour outside of Portland, there aren't any shuttle services from the airport to hotels in the area. We really encourage those of you who have friends or family attending the wedding to group up and save on some Greenhouse Gas emissions. If this is something you would like to do, but aren't aware if you know anyone attending the wedding, please text Blair or Jaron and we will do some brainstorming! Please note, if this is prohibitively expensive for you (~$35/day) please reach out and we will do our best to find you a ride. We understand that destination weddings are not cheap.

Question

Does the couple have a registry?

Answer

You can find our registry on this site, under "registry." Jaron and I have been living together for three years, and have plenty of stuff so we have chosen to register for honeymoon funds. We understand that this isn't something everyone is familiar with and some prefer to give physical gifts. Rest assured, any memories we make with the funds provided from our registry will last far longer than physical gifts.

Question

Why are you getting married so far away?

Answer

Please trust us when we say that the destination is worth the time it takes to get there. The Pacific Northwest is like no where else in the country, and we will be saying our "I do's" facing one of the tallest mountain peaks in the country which happens to be an active volcano you can ski on in July. Honestly, it's just a special place. Blair spent some of the most memorable weeks of her life in Government Camp attending summer snowboard training camps, and it holds a really special place in her heart. We know it's not easy to get to for many, but if you do make it we feel it won't be like any wedding you have ever attended. (In a good way, we hope)
