Covid-19

Planning a pandemic wedding is about as fun as you'd expect it to be.

UPDATE: While our venue is outside, and we are all vaccinated, Skibowl asks that we wear masks anytime we are interacting with their staff. So please bring a mask and wear it when you are loading onto the chairlift, alpine slide, or shuttle, and when you are at the bar or buffet.

How We Met

July 2017

In typical millennial fashion, we both swiped right on Tinder. Jaron had to wait three long weeks for our first date while I (Blair) trekked through the Wyoming wilderness on a horse with my family and family friends. Once we met at a sushi restaurant in Melbourne, FL and I forced Jaron to eat a marinated baby octopus, we were quickly inseparable. Since we met we've shared some incredible experiences like a ski trip to Chamonix, many days at Disney, teaching Jaron to scuba dive, beignets in New Orleans, and the big whammy, moving clear across the country to Washington. We couldn't be more excited to share another wonderful experience with you, and we hope you will join us.

How He Proposed

June 13, 2020

I(Jaron) had known for quite a few months that I was ready to propose. In those months I asked Blair about wedding ring preferences, to be really sure that I was getting her the perfect ring (Blair: and he nailed it!). This of course tipped her off that a proposal was coming, leading to many "When are you gonna propose?" questions. Naturally I had to keep telling her that it was anywhere from a few days to 7 years away. After keeping this up for about a month, I coordinated with Blair's sister on a hike for my birthday that would also provide me a great place to propose. Fast forward to my birthday and we start out on the hike, ring safely stashed away in my backpack. On the first half of the hike we stopped at a few of the lake beaches to enjoy the view. Each time I made a mental note of which spot I preferred. One time Blair even said out loud "This would be such a great place to propose." She must not have noticed how her sister secretly had her camera out every time we stopped somewhere :-). Anyways... On the way back, we again stopped at a beach that we had totally missed before. After spending a moment or two out there, and checking to be sure Blair's sister had her camera ready, I knew it was the right moment. I think Blair started crying the moment I pulled the ring box out and she realized what was happening. What I said to her is a blur (something about how she brings so much joy in my life and I want to spend the rest of my life with her and other mushy stuff.) She of course said "Yes!!!" and we shared some champagne on the beach to celebrate.
