Chicago has 18 miles of paved trails along Lake Michigan, perfect for walking, running or biking!
The Chicago Riverwalk is a 1.25 mile path located on the south bank of the Chicago River. It's a great place to explore and see the river up close. It also has multiple spots to grab a drink or bite to eat!
Even though the Cubs (most likely) won't be playing during our wedding weekend, we highly recommend walking around the stadium and the surrounding neighborhood, aptly named Wrigleyville.
Chicago's free (and best!) zoo is one of our favorites! If the weather allows, we recommend taking a walk along the Lakefront Trail and popping over to the zoo for a visit.
Weather permitting, we highly recommend taking an architectural boat tour on the Chicago river! It's a great way to see the city and you'll learn a ton about Chicago's history through the lens of its incredible architecture! There are many tour companies, but this one by the Chicago Architecture Foundation is the best!
For the out of towners wanting to get deep dish, Lou Malnati's is the spot! The location in Gold Coast is our favorite, but any of Lou's will do!
If you have time, we highly recommend checking out a show at Second City! They have multiple shows every night of the week and produced comedy legends like Bill Murray, Steve Carell, Stephen Colbert, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler and many, many more!
Founded in 1879, the Art Institute is one of the oldest and largest art museums in the world! You'll likely recognize the two giant stone lions positioned outside the front doors. The Art Institute was also featured in the classic Chicago film, Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
If you're looking for indoor activities, we highly recommend the Field Museum, Chicago's Natural History museum! There are two other fantastic museums, the Shedd Aquarium and Adler Planetarium, located within walking distance - the area is commonly called Museum Campus.
You can tell we are getting to Bryan's portion of the Things To Do page since Blair would never be caught dead recommending the stereotypical Chicago tourist attractions. The Bean's sole purpose is for everyone to take an Instagram picture next to it. The Bean is located in Millennium Park, less than a mile east of the W City Center.
While the Hancock Tower's observation deck is somewhat of a tourist trap, it provides amazing views of Chicago. If you wake up feeling dangerous, you can go on the "TILT" which will literally tilt you over the street a casual 94 stories in the air.
Another tourist attraction that provides spectacular views of the city. Not to be outdone by the Hancock Tower's observation deck, you can walk out into a glass box over 100 stories above the street. Yes, it is the Sears Tower, not the Willis Tower.
