It all started with a right swipe and we matched! We met in November on the dating app, Tinder, and went on our first date in January. Nick was in charge of picking the date spot, which turned out to be an awesome bowling alley/arcade/bar mash-up. We ended up bowling for hours and hung out at the arcade afterwards. We stayed until the bowling alley closed and shared our first kiss after being kicked out. The rest is history.
Almost two years later at our apartment in Houston, it was Christmas Eve and we were trying our best to wait until Christmas day to open our presents. Needless to say, we failed miserably and had all our gifts opened within 10 minutes. I don't know if it was because I'd once again bested Nick in the gift-giving department or that I had been proudly gloating about it for 5 minutes straight, but the next thing I knew, he was running up and down the stairs with a surprise I'll never forget. He got down on one knee, held my hand, and asked me to marry him (after butchering my full name due to nerves of course lol). He later confessed he had been sitting on the ring for a month and had planned to wait until our anniversary in January. Very much like us "trying" not to open our presents before Christmas, he failed miserably. P.S. Nick wrote a book with the proposal in it, and we'll definitely have it at the wedding. Can't wait to celebrate with everyone! Love, Elle & Nick
