Bayley and Gary met in October of 2017 at Lost Maples State Park while on a trip for a Texas State backpacking class. However, at that time only a few things were known about each other (like the fact that Bayley was gluten free, and that Gary had exceptional music taste). It wasn't until December of 2017 that these familiar faces re-connected at Chimy's, a local Texas State favorite spot. You can call it crazy or romantic, but either way the two spontaneous spirits decided that jumping into the San Marcos River during a snowstorm was the only sensible way to end the evening, and unknowingly begin the rest of their lives together. Gary and Bayley have spent the past 4 years on countless adventures - camping, traveling, concerts, river jumps, hunting , Home Depot trips and more. In June 2021, they bought their first home in New Braunfels, Texas. On August 28th 2021 Gary got down on one knee in the same place the two met years before, Lost Maples State Park, where Bayley said yes to her adventure partner for life.
