Keystone Ski Resort is a short 30 minute ride from Vail and has been open for over a week already (10/24), so you'll have some good early-season ski conditions if you'd like to hit the slopes on Saturday. Buy lift tickets online ahead of time to save $$$$.
The iconic A-Basin ski resort is open for the season. It's about a 35 minute drive from Vail and offers some great trails and delicious bacon bloody marys!
A beautiful spot to relax, get a massage, or just lounge by the indoor/outdoor pool and multiple hot tubs.
Experience a quaint mountain town with shopping and cuisine. About a 25-30 minute drive from Vail. It will be quiet, as the ski lifts don't fire up for another week.
Did someone say SHOPPING? Experience the wonder of shopping all the sales at the Silverthorne Outlets. A quick jump back over the Vail Pass (or a good pit stop on the way up). Choose from Nike, Columbia, and many others. Silverthorne also has a Target in town, in case you forget something (I.e. swim suit) and need to pick something up!
It's literally a ski area right off Route 70. You cannot miss it. It has something for everyone and opens this weekend, so you'll have some decent conditions since there is a storm forecasted for the weekend of 10/25!
