Unfortunately, we need to keep this event to adults-only. If you plan to travel with your kids, the hotel concierge provided us with a list of local sitters that may be able to assist you with childcare during the ceremony and reception. We will be sending out invites in August, so that guests can have plenty of time to make travel arrangements. Please RSVP no later than September 15, so that we can get a proper headcount for the venue.
Yes, we are having an evening wedding, so please plan for semi-formal attire.
Our host hotel has offered great rates for the guests attending the event. All details are included on the website for the host hotel (Sonnenalp), as well as a few other local hotels for those wishing to use their loyalty programs. Vail is also in their shoulder season, so although the town may be busy with fall foliage, it will be quiet and cheaper compared to winter ski season. Feel free to check out local AirBnB options, as well.
The hotel offers valet parking for $35/day. There are also a few local parking garages available in Vail Village. The town has a free bus system that runs pretty frequently, so even if you park in one of the town lots/garages, you would be able to catch a bus that will leave you off right near the hotel.
Wedding Website includes full registry. We're using Zola for all of our registry and wedding information.
While we may not be able to accommodate all requests, please let us know ahead of time (preferably when RSVPing), if you have any dietary needs and we will alert the venue. No promises, but it helps to make them aware.
We specifically wanted to do Sunday, so that guests can arrive on Friday or Saturday and settle in. Vail Village is a lovely area to visit, as well as the neighboring ski towns. Although ski season doesn't begin in Vail until the end of Thanksgiving, some of the other local ski resorts may be open, so if you'd like to try to do a ski day, check out Loveland, Arapahoe Basin, and Keystone for possible early-season skiing.
Great question! Colorado weather can be quite fickle, but by November, you can assume that the high country will have some snow. Typical temps in early November are in the low 40's during the day, and the 20's at night. BUT... you never know.. sometimes it can be colder, sometimes it can be warmer. Plan accordingly, and as with all of Colorado, bring and dress in layers.
