FAQs

The Wedding Website of Dave Hovis and Chris Bailey
Question

What should I wear to the Welcome Party?

Answer

It's a casual backyard party at the Bailey rental house. Please feel free to wear causal clothing like jeans. Bring a jacket so you can enjoy the beautiful sunset and ocean views from the backyard.

Question

How do I get to the Welcome Party and where do I park?

Answer

The Welcome Party is located at the Bailey Family rental house, 57 Galleons Reach. Kids are welcome. Parking is limited: the house has a long, narrow driveway, so please carpool or get dropped off when possible. We’ll be in touch directly if we have alternative parking options for you. Please note the house sits right on the ocean and the backyard has some steep drop-offs — watch little ones and stay back from the edge.

Question

What events are kids invited to?

Answer

While kids are welcome to join our Friday night Welcome Party, our Wedding celebration is adults-only. Please reach out if you need help with childcare recommendations.

Question

What should I wear to the wedding?

Answer

Cocktail attire — men in suit and tie encouraged. We’ll be hosting the ceremony outdoors near the water, with cocktail hour on the Ocean Deck of the Lodge, so it may be colder and windier than you expect (around 60°F). Bring a jacket or shawl for warmth. The route to the ceremony includes a short walk on uneven grass and wood chips; if you need assistance getting to the site, a golf cart will be available. Dinner will be held inside the Lodge, followed by drinks and dessert at the hotel Bar + Lounge.

Question

How do I get to and from the wedding at The Sea Ranch Lodge?

Answer

If you’re staying at the Lodge: easy — just walk over to the portal area (the walkway through to the ocean with three overhead lights) at 5:00 PM. If you’re not staying at the Lodge: there is guest parking available if you prefer to drive yourself. If someone in your group can be a sober driver, we’d appreciate self-driving parties. No sober driver? We’ve got you covered. Dave and I have reserved an SUV and driver for the night—think of it as our personal Sea Ranch “Uber” (public ride-hailing isn’t available here). Contact Dave or Chris to schedule a pickup time so you arrive before the ceremony; the driver will also be available for ad-hoc rides through the evening. We’ll share the driver’s phone number closer to the date.

Question

Will there be dancing at the wedding?

Answer

No formal dancing — but we will have the full hotel bar for our reception post-dinner and will have music playing there. Expect lively bar-vibes plus a quieter lounge with couches and a fireplace for cozy conversations.

Question

What about dietary restrictions?

Answer

We’ll accommodate common dietary needs (vegetarian and gluten-free) for all meals provided. Please let us know your specific restrictions when you RSVP or message us directly.
